same reason for most unnecessary kit changes by any club, to market the away shirts.

Souness surely? I was a little kid when that happened, so can't compare. The closest thing to this in my era was Roy. but yea, in terms of titlewinning teams going to shit, Souness comparison is correct. hell just look back at the post Busby period. Keeping Fergie around hovering won't help Moyes in times like this either when the players will wonder who this joker thinks he is and miss Fergies methods.
-
Absolute bollocks. Moyes is crap. End of. Even if those players aren't as good, like you claim. They certainly aren't as bad as they have looked this season. It's laughable. Ferdinand Vidic and Evra, basically the backbone of Man Utds side for 5 years roughly are showing their age badly. Their planned replacements aren't up to it (Phil Jones is never a cb) they have next to no creativity in the side as it stands especially in the middle of the park which is not up to the standards of a title challenger.

really is impressive the pile of shit (for their level) Fergies left Moyes especially in defence and even more impressive he got a title winning performance out of them.

Was just about to ask this as I haven't been able to watch the game...... Basically the typical good half and shit half we are used to seeing this season? Apart from the fact we did have chances 2nd half. If Cisse was someone else we might have been more comfortable tbh. We had 3 shots on target second half, they had 2. They had a little more posession and a great deal more urgency about them. We sat a whole lot deeper than we needed to and hoofed it too much. We had came out second half and started it looking as positive as we finished the first half. You have to expect a reaction from the opposition when they've been victim of a beating like they had. Palace did the same at Anfield second half. sounds about right
-
Gambled on selection but it paid off. Sounds like we played unbelievably well first half and still had chances to finish it off 2nd half but lack of composure kept it tighter than it really should have been.
-
its been a very noticeable pattern alright, more forgivable today obviously with a very comfortable lead at half time but strange Rodgers has almost set the side to shut up shop even with a 1 goal lead at times.
-
It wasn't nearly as nervy as the commentators made out. We created more chances than them in the half. Easily the better side over the course of the game. Not impressed at all by Cardiff, they'll struggle badly I feel. they've had a good start but theres many a promoted club which rides the momentum of promotion early in a season and fall apart once teams have had a chance to figure them out. That Danish striker they signed might make a difference once he's fit

I don't really like it, but Qatar won the voting, and now they'll have to find a way to have it there. Impossible to have it there during the summer. Sepp Blatter deserves everything he gets the absolute twatface. Qatar won the vote based on a summer WC. Hope the yanks and the aussies sue FIFA to hell and back if they try to move it. Not one person on the FIFA committee questioned the weather at that time of year ,Qatar obviously did not give a shit understandably but wtf where the others thinking they were thinking about the large amounts of cash placed in their pockets by Qatar -

Not to derail the thread, but there was little to do with us "shutting up shop". Everything to do with sheer complacency and thinking the game was won. We actually had a few good chances we made a total pig's ear of. Aye, I meant that the team could go for a few more goals instead of just playing the game out as is. rare for any side regardless of level to maintain that level of composure when you comfortably ahead in a game. It can backfire but if you go in at half time 2 or 3 ahead most players will think job done and take it easier for the rest of the game.

depends, some will work under Ashley, considerably less (ie next to none imho and no one of any actual talent) will agree to work with Kinnear in charge of "recruitment" Most teams on the continent use a DOF system though and i doubt many on the continent have ever heard the name Joe Kinnear. I just feel it's overblown that's all. A manager can further both his career and his bank balance at NUFC. they can do some basic research before taking the role and discover what a moron he is and change their mind, or just spend 5 minutes talking to him to find out. And Ashley won't appoint any continental manager. How would you happen to know this? precedent he hasn't before and its hard to see him starting now, it will either be JFK or one of JFK's mates If you are prepared to accept 'precedent' as the rule of thumb in this case, how come you don't do the same when looking at Pardew's performances at previous clubs..? I'm judging him solely on his time here not what he did elsewhere (where I don't know the full circumstances of what went on) and for me he's at neutral overall 1 excellent season one very poor season. Also since I am of the full belief that JFK is the almost 100% nailed on eventual replacement I am in no hurry to see him leave with that grim prospect on the horizon.

aye said they would have bought Begovic
