But they're completely different types of striker; unfortunately we do not have a Lukaku type of striker at our club. If we did I'd be happy to see Cisse dropped due to be his recent poor form, but replacing him with Gouffran or Shola is simply not the answer. I know we don't have Lukaku on the bench. That's not my point. People on here even this summer were of the opinion we should not sell Cisse even if somebody like Anzhi offered 20 millon; that's how much some people overrate him on here. As far as I can tell he's a decent poacher with not much to his game (which was why I referred to Lukaku, who is a forward who does), who had a purple patch when he first joined. He's not to be relied upon as our first choice striker if we want to go places as a team. agree with this, frankly I'm beginning to think he's basically the reason we look clueless in attack he needs things to be completely set up on a plate for him and even then has been missing chances and simply in the modern game he can't be relied on. Compare with Ba who could hold it to some extent and be the pointman of our attack and how much better we looked as an attack.

They could start by showing that supposed superior ability on a consistent basis, HBA Colo and Krul apart who has shown any kind of consistent form even just since jan?

where in the name of all thats holy was Debuchy for their 1st, thats ridiculously bad defending
-
everything I've seen of Debuchy while here has suggested he's a considerably worse defender than Simpson even at his worst was. And he's not so much better on the first two that its worth the trade off. We've bought a dud simple as that
-
Face it, he's been passed it for 5 years, the sooner Liverpool realise that and replace him the sooner them as a club will move forward. Too much emphasis on the past at Liverpool in every sense. like when he tore us a new one at home in December 2008 (almost 5 years ago) and almost won Liverpool the title that season hell at his worst last season he was still better than any of our central midfielders have been.
-
Liability to the team, needs to be dropped simple as that for a striker who can actually just do something anything
-
tbh looking back and its amazing that since they sacked Bruce they've come nowhere near being as solid as they were under him. Impressive in retrospect.
-
We've bought a dud in Debuchy simple as that, he hasn't heard of the concept of defending and he is nowhere near a good enough attacker to put up with being such a liability. We were better off with Simpson at least he had a vague notion of what defending is. Santons our best full back, though he's as prone to forgetting how to defend as the rest of them but I'll let him off with being young.

oh I don't know, Di Canio is making Keane look like a genius in comparison, even when they were bad they were never this bad. Or insane. And I am far from Keanes biggest fan.

IOC isn't exactly happy with FIFA over this winter world cup thing since its threatening to get in the way of their winter olympics and is even a threat of throwing football out of the Olympics-which will not upset Blatter and Co in the slightest -
kinda agree here fail to see how it will help in any fashion
-
its not, chelsea vs swindon, and man utd vs liverpool are the sky games
-
why do UEFA want to ruin their own tournement, bad enough they increased the size of it which is going to reduce the quality but this shit about all over europe without consideration as to the cost of supporters following their team, then again fuck those peasants we bigwigs want to party in every major european capital! sigh
-
really is just a "why the hell wasn't this the case already you bloody morons" moment so I'll refrain from calling it a good move because its so ridiculously painfully late. Also it better be a straight into the group stage type qualification than here you go straight into the first qualifying round a couple of weeks after the final -enjoy- type. Also it would amuse me if it denied someone like chelsea a CL place if it takes from a country's allocation of champions league places like winning the CL does.

thats a heaping pile of bs, a harmless heaping pile of bs and theres been considerably bigger piles uttered by manager in history but its still a heaping pile of bs. Made me chuckle though

the fact that England only one vote (iirc) was the ridiculous thing when from an infrastructure point of view there's few easier places to hold it, good level of public transport, stable country, high level stadiums required for such an event already exist and for the most part wouldn't turn into massive white elephants just sitting there decaying after the party's left and a very football mad population which would fill the grounds for each game. The more I think of the very existence of FIFA and the shit they pull when a world cup comes to a country makes me more and more disillusioned with international football and wonder why the hell should I give 2 shits about it, it takes a lot of effort to make the elite clubs normally utterly morally bankrupt in every sense look like good guys but my god compared to FIFA, UEFA and all the sniveling spineless football associations throughout the world they look like bloody saints and frankly the game of football would be best served by them saying a big fuck you to all of the above and striking off on their own and taking all the best players with them. -

oh if only Chelsea had some young striker who scored 17 goals in the league in a lesser side last season.............. Christ if Rafa had been the one in charge of this start for chelsea they'd be burning effigies of him
-
I really hope thats a joke or I'm going to have to question your true allegiances.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Atletico, Reading and QPR stuck around 20-1 odds.
