I'd hope Tiote, Cabaye, Barton, Gosling, Guthrie, Vuckic and Abeid are all ahead of him in the pecking order tbh so barring an absolutely ridiculous injury crisis there's no excuse for him, who should be our 8th choice centre mid, getting on the pitch.

I've seen people on here claiming Newcastle can get into the top 6 this season and someone on the Arsenal game thread quite unbelievably claims that it will be an "easy and comfortable" Newcastle win. Can we have some guidelines on what is and what is not high levels of confidence. Care to provide some links please? Neesy and Colocho posts don't count. Can't remember what thread it was in but think it was by a poster called Tron. Maybe the poster 'Rich' thinks supporters are not allowed to be confident a few days before the season starts, maybe we should all just put us down for relegation, shoot us all. That's how I'd play it too, with the wide men getting right up in support of Ba whenever they can and running at a shaky as fuck Arsenal defence who will already be worried about the physical presence of Ba. We should be looking to win this game, no doubt about it. Definitely, Arsenal are more than there for the taking at the minute.

Agreed. I think it's going to be 'make an example' time, cue a Barton Twitter rant. With 4 wingers at the club now, won't Barton tuck back into the center when he is playing again? 4? I'm guessing you're counting Ben Arfa as a winger which I don't think he will be, it's been stressed many times that he'll be played through the middle. The way I see it Jonas and Marveaux are our left wingers if we're playing 4-4-2 while Obertan is back up for Barton on the right. I doubt we'll see much of Barton in the middle unless we play 4-3-3 with wing-fowards and even then I'd imagine he'll drift out wide.

Shola will play for free man, all will be well. It wouldn't be right seeing him in other teams colours though. From the Champions League to the Championship, Nou Camp to Glanford Park (I do know he didn't actually play that night, but you get my point ), through thick and thin Shola's been there.
