  1. The lad never had a chance alongside Shola tbf.
  2. Thought he was one of the best players on the field when he came on, fair play to the lad, hope he can keep it up.
  3. sigh What? As I said, if it was a player from the other team people would have gone off it. Sick of him posturing as a moral benchmark on Twitter when he dives and stubs out cigars in peoples eyes. I entirely agree with you, was wonder what afar was sighing about. There's this "Barton gets overly victimised" mentality, but it appears to be going to the other extreme of "look at them picking on Barton". He acted like a grade A t*** today and should deservedly be criticised for it. How about Gervinho or Song, how did they act, why arn't you talking about them ? They were angels. Don't use such idiotic reasoning, man. Why on earth would I be excusing how they acted? It doesn't mean Barton didn't act like a bellend himself. Instead of "OMG LOOK AT BARTON BEING CRITICISED THE PRESS HATE HIM"... maybe he's being criticised because he, er, was an idiot today? Just a thought. Nothing idiotic at all, just be fair with your critcism, all Joey did was pull up a cheater from the ground, he did it a little overly aggressive and deserved a yellow, but he had just been cowardly stamped on by a player that wasn't punished and saw a fellow player trying to cheat his team out of a well deserved point. But lets just talk about Joey and not those two other guys who commited far worse crimes today than our number 7. Song was the worst of the lot, I thought that would blatantly go without saying? Minimum 3 match ban. Aye if Song doesn't get a ban it's a fucking joke, like Joey's already said, imagine if it was him doing the stamping.
  4. Aye. Fucking get in! I need to meet that lads dad and buy him a pint.
  5. Taylor seemed to step in to break it up I think. Only it seen it once more on replay though. Read something about an elbow?
  6. BTW, what did Taylor say/do? Seen him mentioned a few times in relation to the incident but not quite caught the jist of it. Aye he was spot on there too.
  7. Aye, sat with my head in my hands waiting for him to be sent off, missed the ensuing melee.
  8. Today only reaffirmed my love for the bloke, he's a complete and utter cunt, but he's our cunt.
  9. I'd thought it was our lot singing that. Nah, was in the broadest of cockney accents tbf: "Speeeend sommmme faaaacking moneeeey!"
  10. I've just got in, so this has probably been discussed already, but can anyone confirm, that little lad at half time was called Shola yeah? I wasn't hearing things?

    What happened with Gyan, injured?
  12. Don't think he'd have been 'one of the most gifted players this country has seen', but definitely think he'd have been a permanent fixture in the national team.
  13. Just seen he only made 30 appearances, sub appearances included, in 4 years at West Ham. Fuck knows how we managed to get £6m out of them.
  14. What wants, gets; bring on the Champions League!
  15. William Hill offering 7 - 1 anytime goal scorer, needless to say i've gotten involved.

    Sunderland...

What a load of rubbish. I don't know a single person who claims the derby is 'just a game'. I can only guess you are not from the North East and don't have a clue what it means, ridiculous post. Show me one single Sunderland fan who claims the 5-1 didn't hurt and I will show you a liar, of course it hurt, only a idiot would argue otherwise, any derby defeat hurts, whichever team you support. It was more a pisstake of your position/posts tbh. You mention the 9-1 quickly enough without mentioning the fact we won the league that season. When you finish above us the individual games don't count but when you win them, even though it's over 100 years ago, you still try to milk it. Until last season, I hardly ever heard the 9-1 game mentioned, ever. Over the last year Newcastle fans have developed a real obsession with Sunderland and it's something that has only developed since you got relegated. We barely ever heard of Newcastle fans showing this obsession in your 'glory years' and Sunderland were never mentioned by your fans, it was always "Man Utd are our rivals" or even more embarrassing "Barcelona of the North". Now you lot are completely obsessed with anything Sunderland, from Quinn to finances to crowds to league position. You have the 5-1 but we have a long standing record scoreline that still stands to this very day and the mere mention of 1-9 sends you lot into overdrive. All we heard on here in May was "Sunderland will be relegated next season when the loan players go back" or "Short is downsizing and the mackems are skint". Yet again we come out on top and it's your club which has been the laughing stock of the country all summer. Roll on next Saturday and Sessegnon can shut up a few mouthy people on here. http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm162/gojle/red_alert.gif?t=1242053402 Meltdown!
  17. Actually that would be miles better than having Raylor or Perch anywhere near the pitch.
  18. I'd like to see: Krul Simpson Williamson Coloccini Tiote Barton Cabaye Marveaux Jonas Ba Think we'll see Best/Shola instead of Marveaux though and play a simple 4-4-2. Is Ferguson definitely out of this btw?

Aye it's always painfully obvious to see when he is on the wind-up too.

Also you've told us countless times how the derby games mean nothing in the wider picture, remember? I guess the game in 7 days will only matter if you win and be utterly meaningless if you lose like last year then?

And I doubt there's a much better feeling than winning a derby you were rather nervous about beforehand 5-1. Also, after a promising start to the night I see Wearyside's reverted to form and started rambling about a result from over a 100 years ago. Guess he must've had a bit to drink since earlier on.

Name me one affordable striker better than Darren Bent. You can't, because there isn't one, that's just simple facts. If you read carefully I never suggested you should've bought a better striker than Bent, I simply suggested the money would've been better spent on a player who is more capable of playing Premier League football this season instead of buying a youngster for the future.
