Apparently Jémez held contract talks with Rayo this Monday and they broke down, which I guess is the reason why all those links are starting to appear. Honestly, I know Ashley will probably go for someone "safe" and boring ala McLaren, but you would be in for quite a ride with Jémez.

I translated it in a rush. It's not too clean... "get back the greatness lost in recent times" probably better.
-
Now for real; Marca have uploaded the article linking Jémez with you. Also Aston Villa and Stoke, but have you as forerunners. http://www.marca.com/2015/04/29/futbol/equipos/rayo/1430304887.html

Nothing, somebody edited Jémez' wikipedia page to show he was joining you

I can't find any of these "reports in Spain". Nothing on Marca, to be sure.

That got a good laugh over here too. So phony

I had a Magic: The Gathering card called like that when I was a kid. Played it quite often since it was amazing, that's how I learnt that phrase. EDIT: http://a1.res.cloudinary.com/csicdn/image/upload/c_pad,h_300,w_300/v1/Images/Products/mtg%20art/Torment/full/Pay%20No%20Heed.jpg

Late night Spanish footie programs are full of shit. Pay no heed.

Breaking news: a couple of our radio stations are claiming that Atlético and Real Madrid have been hit with a 2 window transfer ban, for similar reasons to the one we got. EDIT: More of our media picking it up, although it's been amended as "UEFA is considering" the bans.

You'll swindle some points; not even Carver can possibly manage an 11 game losing streak. People like Dummet, Sissoko and Cisse coming back will also save him from his own stupidity, too (those lineups )

Football's greatest - where does Lionel Messi rank?
Village Idiot replied to Dave's topic in Football
Well, aye. We even have an idiom for that in Spanish; "la fe del converso", the faith of the convert. -
I wish I wasn't at work so I could have gone to the stadium tonight. This guy's life man. Sickening. That's why I need to balance my karma by following you.

He's in the squad of 20, 2 will be cut before tomorrow. Still chance he'll be one of the two as his inclusion in the squad seems more a PR move due to the bad press Real have been getting regarding his performances for Castilla. He's been terrible. He should ditch the primadonna act and train with Castilla so he gets to know his teammates. I watched a couple of Castilla games to check the hype and it's like he wasn't even there.

Yeah, the games are exclusively scheduled around maximizing TV audiences for every game - matchgoing fans are just props.
-
Several reasons: 1) Recession. Attendances have cratered these past years. We've had it bad down here (still do). 2) TVs shitting on fans from great height. The scheduling of games is absolutely bonkers. As an example, today we have two 22.00 kickoffs, on a weekday! People have to work tomorrow, those two games will have terrible attendances as a result. The reason is so tellies can show our game (20.00 kickoff) and then the other two, without Barça's game killing the audience of the others. 3) Unreasonably high ticket prices for casual fans. STs are priced allright, but people wanting to attend just a few games per season are put off by the prices. You can't attract new fans like that. Many clubs have answered falling match income by increasing ticket/ST prices in order to gouge their most loyal fans, which has created a vicious circle. 4) No tradition of away travel. Also, due to chance there's a few teams with large followings (Betis, Zaragoza, Sporting...) that aren't in La Liga nowadays.

Messi has been our best non-defensive midfielder this season. Now that he has the likes of Neymar and Suárez as striker partners he's dropped back and gets involved in the buildup far more, partially making up for the decline of Xaviesta. Cronaldo could never do that. -
Tbf they are a pretty small town and it's their first year ever in La Liga. There's work underway to expand it to 7000. Also, La Liga reports attendances as actual butts on seats, not tickets sold. Just to clarify.
-
Otamendi for Valencia has been the best CB in La Liga, imho. Amazing season.

Club shop address is the SD hq. All the money goes to SD. No advertising revenue despite the hundreds of SD adverts in the club etc. Similar with Rangers. Cheers, I wondered that too
