  1. Obviously Ronaldinho has been far more important for Barça, since he spearheaded our revival in the 2000s. We wouldn't be where we are now without him. Maradona didn't actually change the club much, that wouldn't happen until Cruyff. I'd say Messi > Maradona, but I'm not a Napoli fan, and that's where he peaked.
  2. He was amazing, we would've won the league in 1984 had Goikoetxea not crocked him, which would've been our first title in 10 years. We weren't the team we are now, back then. Until Messi, I had never seen a single player in our shirt pulling the kind of ridiculous shit Maradona did (Ronny had a different style).
  3. I guess Hoodle could fill the raging lunatic quota left by Kinnear's absence. I'll pray for Jémez, although I doubt he'd leave Rayo in the middle of the season. Unlike some other manager.
  4. He was brilliant, make no mistake. Injury and problems with the board prevented him from being one of our greats.
  5. I did see him play live. I'm old enough. I had him instead of Iniesta at first, but at the end I tried to make a "realistic" team, and Andrés brought more balance.
  6. Yet I get drunk because you sold Alan Pardew.
  7. I'll restrict it to players I have watched/seen full games in tape. Valdés Alves Puyol Koeman Barjuan Neeskens Xavi Iniesta Cruyff Ronaldo Messi I'm sorry for Diego, but I just can't break Xavi-Iniesta
  8. For the life of me I can't come up with a Barça best all-time XI. Too many players that I can't drop (Diego, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Cruyff, Ronaldo...) Also, Ney being Ney.
  9. Seeing the thread title going back to just "Alan Pardew" scared the shit out of me for a moment, thought the deal might be off
  10. Somebody post that douchebag Laker fans one. this one? http://www.lobshots.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/reverse-lakers-bro.gif That's the one Yank sports fans, such a treasure trove.
  11. Somebody post that douchebag Laker fans one.
  12. VI when are the next elections? Is Laporta coming back? Summer 2016. Laporta is likely to run, and there's no chance in hell the current board wins, even if we went two CL back-to-back wins beating Madrid 10-0 in both finals. They are only slightly more popular than Generalísimo Franco and AIDS.
  13. Vermaelen and Mathieu were the mistakes, actually. Could have done way better at the back with €40m
  14. He's having a great season at Sevilla. We actually agreed to sell him to them as part of the Rakitic deal, but we can pay compo to break the deal. I guess that won't run afoul of the ban since he's still on loan there. Him and Samper are different players anyway; Suárez is more an attacking midfielder, while Samper is a deep lying playmaker. I think we have enough in the middle and upfront to survive next season and be competitive. Our defence though
  15. He's great; I actually look forward seeing him in our senior squad. Anyway, saying goodbye to this thread until 2016. Have fun lads!
  16. Good side of this is that Tooj will stop asking me about Samper, since we'll be forced to promote him to the first team
  17. Cardboard Guardiola wouldn't play Gouffran.
  18. As expected, CAS upholds our transfer ban. The Korean lad that started the whole fracas better be good; I've decided I'll hold oldtype responsible for this if he isn't.
  19. I'm sure he won't be offered the job, as that'd be absolutely ludicrous. But f***ing hell, man. Just absolutely no! Even the suggestion has me absolutely f***ing petrified. Reminds me of the rumors of Xavi being offered the Barça gig when Vilanova was forced to retire due to his health. Actually, It would be cool in a retro way to see a player/manager in a respectable team again, if it's just temporary.
  20. People often forget what a good squad Pardew has had during most of his time here. If he almost relegated you with the likes of Cabaye, Santon, Sissoko, etc... the heights he may achieve with the one-two punch of Chamakh and Frazier Campbell will be the stuff of legends.
  21. Yes we got too excited which distracted the players. Such surreal bullshit
  22. Thought the second leg was at SJP. But I remember that 3-3 game now. The one where he blamed the fans for cheering the team on, isn't it?
  23. They'll definitely stay up this year, imo. We're gonna get called assholes for a month during the honeymoon period. But all we have to do is wait. He'll win at SJP. He'll then strut on the pitch, smile and wave to the stands, as the whole press goes into overdrive calling you names and how he's proved all you wrong. He'll make NUFC fans miserable even when he isn't at the club any longer; so unquenchable is his thirst for your despair.
