100% agree. Every time we commit players forward we look likely to get hit on the break at home. No lack of effort today but those players simply aren't good enough and Rafa knows it.

I quite like him but If he wasn't so fast (which gets him out of trouble time and time again) he'd be a Chmapionship player at best.

Played really well 1st half, not so well 2nd half. If we'd had a decent striker on our books the 2nd half would have been irrelevant anyway.

Agree and I'd add Atsu to that as well. Would be great to have a wide player who can run with the ball, beat his man and then whip a cross in.

It's the only win we've had there in the PL. Seem to recall we won there in the Coca Cola Cup(?) under Keegan in the mid-90s. I was at that one. Would have been 1995ish and we beat them 4-0 at the old Victoria Ground. Never seen trouble like it before outside the ground afterwards, and it was quite tasty even just getting in beforehand. Remember their manager Lou Macari stirring things up as well. Was glad to get out in one piece that night.

Would be very disappointed with Benitez if that was the case. He was taking an absolute eternity with the ball despite often having Ritchie and Atsu in acres of space on either flank. Thought the atmosphere was ok but these performances suck the life out of the crowd.
