  1. Seemingly a bit of trouble outside at the end, bottles and punches thrown. 1 Wolves fan taken away injured. Wolves fans also complaining they were being pelted with objects throughout the game. Rare to see this sort of thing outside SJP these days.
  2. In the Milburn Corner? That was shocking that, he had loads of time to get it and just gave up. Aye that's the one. It was probably the loudest noise of the afternoon, loads of people up off their seats screaming at him.
  3. Called up to the Dutch squad. Janmaat left out.
  4. They got 1500 tickets for tonight compared to 3200 on Saturday. I'm assuming they're in the leazes/eaststand corner. Wolves have sold 509 tickets for tonight.
  5. Bad day on and off the pitch on Saturday. However the players went into that game on the back of a 6 match winning run and the crowd are the main reason we have Rafa as our manager so I won't be too harsh on either.
  6. To my understanding, "instincts for goals" means being on the end of chances, not necessarily finishing skills. Rubbish about Cole. Coles conversion rate was far higher for us than it was for Man Utd. Ferguson however turned him into a far better all round team player. Not sure how you can really disagree with that unless you weren't around during the 1990s.
  7. He may become a better all round centre forward with age but he's never going to be a finisher because he just doesn't have that instinct in front of goal. That's not something you can really coach either. Andy Cole was arguably the best finisher we've ever seen here and when he went to Man Utd he improved as a football but to the detriment of his finishing ability when he was required to remodel his game. I don't think you can work it the other way around. Then there's the problem with his chronic lack of pace and very dodgy disciplinary record and I just don't think he'll have enough about him to do what we need him to do. Really hope he does because I love how proud he is to play for NUFC, you can see it in his face but I don't think he's got enough attributes to his game to make it here. If the rumours about Benitez trying to move him on in the summer are true it's obviously something the manager feels as well.
  8. Totally agree. Think we'd get the best of him if he's got a very quick full back bombing on past him and opening up more space because as good as his vision and final ball is the one thing he lacks is raw pace.
  9. As much as the PL bores me rigid unfortunately that is where the club needs to be with the money involved these days so I'd have to say Promotion.
  10. It's the biggest sunderland forum by a long way with 1000s of members. It's totally representative of their fanbase.
  11. He just seems to set them up every match for a 0-0. Can't imagine it being much fun for any sunderland fan or player at the moment with those tactics. Shame.
  12. After 5 minutes I said to my mate it looked like Shelvey was playing as a third centre half.
  13. Virtually nothing. Not one of our attacking lot of Ritchie, Diame, Perez and Gayle was worthy of anything gets more than a 4/10. Mitrovic came on and ran around a bit but in truth I just think he lacks any real quality.
  14. The way we're going at the minute I wouldn't be surprised to see us beat Villa and Norwich then lose to Rotherham and Brentford.
  15. And also, for all the people slating him for not scoring his chance, at least he got himself into a position to have a shot at goal, which Gayle was unable to do during the whole 90. Getting into goalscoring positions has never been his problem. It's his finishing that let's him down time and time again. Don't think anyone in the crowd expected him to score when he was put through on goal yesterday.
  16. The hype is just mainly on here tbh. In 10 years time he'll be at some obscure club in another country and will be known as a journeyman striker.
  17. Still think we can turn this round in the 2nd leg. 3-0 on Tuesday
  18. If you're talking about his red card not a lot. I expect it to be appealed and overturned. Wouldn't mind seeing Yedlin given a chance there either way Thought Yedlin might have started today. He'll get his chance now.
  19. Wasn't right in the corner. I was sat right behind it. Looks pretty close to me like http://i.imgur.com/I2mWezi.jpg That shows it wasn't right in the corner when it went beyond Sells and over the line, if it was it , from the angle of the shot, it would have gone into the netting on the side not the back. He side foots it so it could have curled from outside the post to back into the post. It could have. But it didn't. I'll blame other people for the goal rather than blame a goalkeeper to try and stop a free shot on the edge of the area that's right in the corner of the net and not on his near post He should have saved it mind. His positioning was awful. Almost identical to Huddersfield's winner in the same goal.
  20. If you're talking about his red card not a lot. I expect it to be appealed and overturned.
