Looks like Gomis is top of our strikers list now.
-
40 page thread (and counting) on this kick about over on RTG
-
I've got to be honest and say I couldn't care less about this. In fact I find it quite funny.
-
This 100%. Hardly the sort of character you want for a relegation battle.
-
Fair play to him though. A few people on here mentioned what a right tw*t Steve Harper was when out in public with a few stories of how arrogant he was. Thing with Shola is I've only ever heard what a top bloke he is off the football pitch. I wish him well, he's probably got a couple of years left in him playing at Championship level. In fact we might re sign him for our Promotion push next season.
-
I'd play him in that friendly against the mackems with the instructions to do what he wants.
-
Townsend on the left and Remy in place of Mitrovic and that looks quite interesting.
-
Obviously tongue in cheek but there'll be loads now who'll have that opinion for real, not being able to grasp that 8 years of chronic under investment has forced his hand and he'll now be sh*tting himself over the possibility of missing out on next seasons TV bonanza. Unfortunately for him, even if we do sign a striker, the manager he appointed to get the results needed clearly isn't capable of doing so.
-
We must be the unluckiest team in the world mind. We're tremendous every week but we always get beat. I'm confident our fortunes will change though when this horse we've all been waiting for gets stuck onto the cart.
-
Couldn't fault the players attitude either.
-
You will when Clattermole puts Wijnaldum out for the season with a neck high tackle.
-
Sky sources saying Leicester have turned down the chance to sign him on loan.
-
None of these so called better options have come in for him as yet and scoring 9 or 10 goals for us would surely give him more chance of going to the Euros than sitting on Chelsea's bench would. Puts himself in the shop window for the summer as well.
-
I think Remy's about the best we can hope for now. No £20m rated striker would touch us with a barge pole in our position and I suppose Remy would need to bang a few goals in to stand a chance of making Euro 2016 if nowt else.
-
If you think he played pretty well yesterday then you are very easily pleased. Average would be being generous to him. I thought he was poor.
-
Realistically the only team we have a chance of getting ahead of are Norwich but we also need to keep ourselves ahead of the Mackems who will no doubt put some sort of winning run together for the final half dozen games. Can't see any benefit in not sacking McClaren ASAP. He's taking us down and he's proved himself incapable of getting a team back out of the Championship as well so it's a double edged sword.

1 win in 10 league games for Everton. They'll be pleased we roll into town next.
-
For all Swansea's possession and passing, they haven't created much. Their penalty was an absolute gift and the second took a big deflection. We'll inevitably lose next week but it's misleading to paint Swansea as some superior, Barca-esque attacking force imo. I never said they were. I just said we won't go there and score twice. Do you disagree?
-
Can anyone else see us going to Everton a week on Wednesday and scoring twice in the 1st half? Nah me neither.
-
Not for me. Would mean I'd have to work on Xmas Day and Boxing Day.
-
We won't sign a winger whilst we've got Thauvin, Aarons, Marveaux and Obertan on the books and we won't sign a left back when we have Dummett, Haidara and Mbabu on the wage bill.
-
We need more tbh if we're to get results away from home. Still far to easy to get through. Agree with you but I can't see us bringing in 3 new signings this week. We're in desperate need of a centre forward and I'm not even confident of getting one of those.
-
I'd just be happy with a proper centre forward. Tbh I think that's the best we can hope for.
-
He looked very frustrated yesterday. He's clearly the type of midfielder who likes to get on the ball and play it forward, unlike Colback, Tiote and Anita. On quite a few occasions he would get on the ball, look up to play a forward pass only to find Mitrovic stood there, no movement, not trying to create himself, or make a run. Shelvey actually lost his temper with him in the 2nd half.
-
Did you watch the game or are you looking at the stats? I watched the full game and thought he was very poor. Doubt he'll get more than a 5/10 from any of the reporters there yesterday. In saying that, bar maybe the first 20 minutes nobody really had a decent game other than perhaps Elliott and Janmaat. For such an important game the worrying thing was there didn't seem much urgency to go and win it, especially against a team who had lost their last 4 league games.
