Wor Flags: visit worflags.org.uk/donate to support future displays

It's a daft idea. What's it got to do with football? Well it's got a Newcastle badge on it. And homophobia is a huge problem in football. I like it - inclusive for fans and players. Honestly can't remember the last time I heard any homophobic abuse inside SJP. Football is far too sanitised in this country now. -

Those heady days of 17th place finishes feel like a lifetime away now.

Where has Ashley said this? He hasn't. It's just media reports.

Desperately under qualified for the job he's in is the main problem here. I cringe when I think of him representing NUFC at home or abroad in transfer negotiations. They'd be better off letting Rafa take care of all that until pre season training starts.

I've always thought (whether I'm correct or not, I'm not sure) it was 5% of capacity maximum, or 3000 if 5% is more than that. eg 5% of 75000 = 3750, so it'd be 3000 there, but in a 25000 stadium it'd be 1250 max 10% of capacity or a minimum of 3k seats for stadiums with a capacity exceeding 30k. I think 3k is about the maximum allocation you get anywhere these days in the PL give or take a couple of hundred. source? Me. I remember we only used to allocate away fans 2,800 seats and Arsenal put in a complaint to the Premier League and from 2011/12 we had to hand over an extra block of tickets to away fans because we had been in breach of the minimum 10% or 3k seats rule.

Wasn't that not the game we were drawing 1-1 and Pardew brought Gouffran on and he scored the winner? The Everton game I think you are referring to would have been a couple of weeks later. Pretty sure it was on Monday night Football. We were 3-0 down at half time but managed to get back to 3-2 although that scoreline really flattered us.

Cheers. That's what I was trying to do!

Someone has just put a screenshot of the stadium plan up on twitter and there's hardly any availability left now. Even areas that have traditionally been difficult to sell in the past few seasons like the Leazes directly underneath the away fans are coloured red now and showing low availability. Anyone still wanting one would be well advised to get in quick.
-
Yeah I'd agree with that. Being in the upper tier noise should take hold of the rest of the stand better than if it was at the front for example. Also towards the end of last season when the atmosphere went up a few notches a relatively small amount of singers right at the back of the Gallowgate (200 or so) made a decent amount of noise so with a couple of thousand more hopefully joining them they should be able to make quite a din.
-
Thanks for trying to answer. Think they should've started with the Strawberry corner then slowly block by block expand it across the Gallowgate. Regardless I hope it takes off as I'd reverse my predominately away games attendance for more home games if it does. Strawberry Corner is probably 99% season ticket holders as is the middle tier, whereas Gallowgate Upper is probably only 50-60%. Far easier to implement it where there's a far smaller % of season ticket holders.
-
Ideally you need to sell to someone you can trust which is why places like this are probably better than twitter. Tbf I've sold tickets in the past on here and social media without any problems but you always run the risk of selling to someone who might try it on. In saying that your season ticket is worthless to anyone else other than yourself so someone not returning it isn't your problem. Just always make sure you get the cash! Like I said I'll buy it off you for any games you can't make if you manage to get one in the Gallowgate.
-
They'll be expecting to sell out season tickets, especially if the scramble today is anything to go by, which would mean only around 5k tickets making members sale and all the so called big games not even making general sale. If you have the money sitting there I'd advise on getting one and for any games you can't make selling it on places like here, Twitter or Facebook with you living outside the area. In fact if you buy in the Gallowgate I'll buy your ticket of you for any games to can't make for the bairn!
-
Is it going to be spread right across all 5 blocks of the upper tier or concentrated on 1 or 2 blocks initially? Can't decide whether to move up there or stay where I am as the atmosphere is canny there anyway.
-
No you'd need to print off and sign a Direct Debit mandate. I got my plan last week and it's £65 a month for 8 months in the Gallowgate, first payment is 3rd July and last one is February.
-
All seats that weren't sold last season go on general sale at 10am tomorrow and any seats not renewed after the deadline go on sale a week tomorrow.
-
Sh*t title tbh.
-
That's not important tbf other than to the fans who always need something to whinge about. What they're trying to achieve is.

Singing section update to our members.. Hello all, We are writing to you today to bring you some great news. Wor Hyem 1892 are awaiting singing section confirmation from NUFC, the section we have agreed in principle with the club and Gallowgate Flags is the Gallowgate upper. We will be in touch regarding ways to move with us once we hear more from the club. This will be before the ST deadline. We hope this helps your decision on where your new seat will be. Demand will be high, and there is no guarantee that you will be able to obtain a ticket. Our ambition is to turn the Gallowgate into a wall of black and white, inspired by the yellow wall of Dortmund. This is just the beginning of the movement. Singing doesn't have to be limited to the singing section. Sing loud, sing proud and support the club we all love. #BringBackTheNoise! Howay the lads! WorHyem1892

Agree 100% with those last 2 posts like.

The wing seats are far cheaper than the central seats anyway. When the stadium was redeveloped in 1999 they put away fans in that corner whilst charging people in the Platinum Club right next to them £71.
