We got a very fortunate deflection goal in extra time to grab a point against Man U just 24 hours earlier. Not sure if serious.
  2. Owen had a few massive injuries but still managed 26 goals which worked out at better than a goal every 3 games. I can only remember Luque getting the 4th against the mackems. Boumsong was just a dodgy transfer altogether and was Souness doing Rangers (and himself) a big favour.

Two offside goals and another opposition red card that'll be overturned. You got lucky, hope we get a bit sooner rather than later.
  4. If it's been instigated by the player then it's best for all parties that he moves on. He won't be much good to us in a relegation battle if he wants to run home at the first sign of trouble because a few hundred fans gave him a bit of stick for diving and pretending to be hurt. If it's the club wanting to move him on then Carrs head needs to be on the chopping block because it's been a disastrous signing, of Luque and Boomsong proportions. Just find the whole situation bizarre.
  5. Just looked back through this thread to when we were linked with him and then signed him and most people seemed to agree he wouldn't be a very good signing for us.
  6. This is basically the top and bottom of it.

Last nights game is the reason these lucky b*stards aren't going down. Always seem to get a decision or 3 go their way when they really need it. They've only won twice against 11 men this season.
  8. Officials pulled them out the clarts last season. Happening again this time round.
  9. You've got far too much time on your hands like.
  10. That's what I was thinking. He's had a couple of canny games but nothing you could call "complete control and dominance".
  11. Felliani and Lingard could have had no complaints if they'd been sent off before half time. Thought the ref had a shocker.
  12. He doesn't want to be here. We've just gone and signed 2 midfielders. If someone is prepared to pay £8m for him I'd take the money and run, especially if it funds a new striker.
  13. Needs a rest. I'd play De Jong ahead of him on Saturday.
  14. That's all there is to it. It's a lot to expect from someone that age to shoulder the responsibility for scoring the goals to keep us up. We need a senior striker to rotate with him. He's got loads of potential and is only going to get better, but I see him as a target man rather than a 15-20 goal a season striker. Aye that's how I see him as well. People expecting him to knock in 20+ goals a season in a couple of years time may well be disappointed. With proper coaching (hmmm) he could become a decent asset to us.
  15. Ridiculous statement to make. Certainly if he'd played instead of Perez we wouldn't have lost 3-0 because Perez was awful yet again. Don't know what's wrong with him at the moment, he looks totally out of sorts. Thought Mitrovic had a good game but I'm sick of hearing people say he's only 21 so he'll get better. He might, hopefully he will but it's far from certain. The best player on the pitch last night was Rooney but he was a better player 10 years ago than he is now and our record signing Michael Owen was a better player at 18 than he was at 28. Strikers, in particular seem to peak earlier these days. Hopefully there's another forward still to come in to share responsibility with Mitrovic.
  16. Deans just got one of those nerdish faces. You just know he was bullied throughout his childhood and is filled with so much pent up rage looking to take vengeance on as many people as possible now he's been given a bit of power. Sincerely hope he's involved in a collision with a lamp post during his drive home.
  17. You just know that despite Felliani commiting 4 bookable offences in the 1st half we'll have a man sent off during the 2nd.
  18. Turned it off. Not having to buy a new telly cos of that tw@t Dean. Might as well just award them the game and let everyone get off home.
  19. We don't though. Janmaat stunk the place out at the start of the season, Coloccini was hopeless, Colback useless, Krul was terrible for the majority of last season, none of them were dropped. You can probably count on one hand the amount of loan signings we've made in the past decade. I act of actually see your point in a way and agree with some of what you are saying but we certainly don't do things for short term gain generally speaking. The club have been forced to act this month due to the dire situation they find themselves in and it would be daft not to explore the loan market especially if Remy is available. If anything I think they are guilty of planning to far ahead and concentrate on signing players for the future. When did we last sign a finished article or a player supposedly at his peak. That's what we need to start doing, planning for the here and now as opposed to 3 or 4 years down the line because it's that strategy combined with duff managerial appointments that's got us in this mess.
  20. If we don't sign a decent forward we're down anyway.
  21. It's everything to do with your point. Signing managers on 8 year deals and young players on 5 and 6 year contracts is anything but short term thinking. Bringing in loads of loan players and players at the end of their careers as Sunderland do for example is short term thinking.
