  1. He'd never missed a Newcastle match in Britain (friendlies included) since 1968. I'll go onto that just giving page at dinner time to contribute towards a decent send off for the lad.
  2. Woodgate was a class act but lets be honest, he hardly played. For that reason I would have Albert in ahead of him. Anyway we're drifting off topic here so that's my final word on it!
  3. There's having favourite players and that but Robert doesn't belong alongside those two like. Not going to argue it with you or anything because obviously it's all down to opinions and everything, I just can't see how you'd have Robert alongside those two and that's before getting onto having him ahead of the likes of Lee and Cole. All about opinions of course but Robert was capable of doing things Lee and Cole could only dream of. On that basis, I'd bring up Ginola and HBA, who did things that Robert could only dream of. I get your point though. Their goal tallys and assists don't come near to Roberts though. He was far more productive as an attacking force. Have to say loved them both as well mind. One of them should still be here.

  5. Beardsley, Shearer and Robert are our 3 best Premier League era players imo.
  6. He's a totally different player to Toure and Lampard man. Toure in particular is a proper box to box player due to his physique and athleticism and is constantly involved in games. Wijnaldum isn't that type of player. He flits in and out of games and pops up in the opposition half and does bits of magic and pops up with a large amount of goals and assists. Thankfully McClaren doesn't see him the way you do because he'd be badly exposed in the role you championed him for.
  7. Yeah, Demba Ba would have had 2 or 3 today. Misstrovic is a good all around player, but he is paid to score goals, the one thing missing from his game. Hope we aren't relegated on the back of that fact. As if the reason we go down if we do will be down to him. There's 11 players on the pitch and they are all to blame, not just one guy who barely gets chances most weeks to begin with. I remember you. You're the one who wanted Wijnaldum (our top scorer) played in a more defensive role at the start of the season so I don't take you all that seriously but clearly nobody is saying Mitrovic's misses will be the sole reason we go down, if we were to. They would just be a part of a culmination of reasons going back a long time. He's had quite a few chances in our last half dozen games and has a solitary penalty to show for it. He's playing quite well and had a really good game yesterday but ultimately a striker is judged on how many goals he scores and the lad needs to start scoring soon. Wijnaldum doesn't get that many chances either but he's more than doubled Mitrovic's tally.
  8. As well as he's played since he cane in for Krul I'll never forget this and what it says about him as a professional.
  9. Correct, but he has it in him to be just that. That remains to be seen. I hope you're right. Actually his general all round play outside the penalty area was really good but he's an awful finisher. I always think a strikers instinct is one thing you can't teach someone.
  10. Just seen it on Keith Barrett's Facebook before there. Very sad to hear the news. He followed Newcastle everywhere, never missed a game and was one of the most recognisable faces in the stands. RIP Cliffy
  11. We'd have scored 4 or 5 today with a proper centre forward.
  12. RIP Cliffy. A bit of an eccentric but a really canny, and harmless fella. Literally followed NUFC everywhere. I was talking to him at the FA Youth Cup match against Chelsea last season and didn't think he looked too well back then.
  13. It's clear what Beautiful Day is saying. You buy proven Premier League players, ie Shelvey, they're more likely to come in and make an immediate impact, which is what we need, than a player signed from the French League. Surely that's why they cost more. Hopefully he can settle in quickly and benefit from playing next to Shelvey.
  14. McClaren is a coward like. Petrified to take a risk and go for it. That's why we've only won 4 times all season. Colback ffs!

Happy 51st Birthday John! (Check out his photo on the born on this day bit on NUFC.com)
  16. Why? When you are the King you can do what you want.
  17. Aarons is never fit though.
  18. Clearly wants to leave and has been unhappy here for a while. Thanks for that goal v Arsenal and good luck in China.

I'm not comparing. I was just suggesting we got a bit of luck, as you lamented we never get as opposed to the mackems. We took a shot and scored. Sunderland scored twice with 2 offside goals and their opponents had a player wrongly sent off with an hour of the match remaining. No point discussing this any further if you can't grasp the difference. I won't mention the penalty Janmaat should have had or the fact that Man Utd should have finished the game, maybe even the 1st half, with 9 men.

    Sunderland

Nah it was already going in that's why he's been awarded the goal. Anyway you're comparing a perfectly legitimate goal with 2 offside goals and a sending off that wasn't one and will be rescinded. That's the point.
  21. Quite a lot of money but I think he'd improve our team and would be a decent signing as long as it's not at the expense of a striker.
  22. 60 quid Amazon have them up for £6 Edit: Big D Lee ‏@aggaz09 9h9 hours ago @MirrorFootball well done Ashley chance to win a coat for the team to win and fans still moan spent £70m this season so far still not happy We're entrenched in yet another relegation battle under his leadership but because he's gave us the chance to win a coat all should be forgiven and we should be eternally grateful to this so generous man.

We got a very fortunate deflection goal in extra time to grab a point against Man U just 24 hours earlier. Not sure if serious. Why? You said you hoped we would get a bit of luck sooner rather than later. Technically speaking we got a somewhat fortunate point from a lucky goal just 3 or 4 minutes ago, in terms of playing time. That Dummett shot would probably still be orbitting the earth if it didn't take that deflection. On a serious note, I watched their game yesterday and their performance deserved the 3 points easily and Swansea were a complete mess. I think it's a false argument to point to their luck whilst discarding our own (Bournemouth anyone). We're both in the bottom three because we've both been playing s***, creating very little and conceeding loads. Luck has very little to do with it. Surely Dummett's shot would've had to be on target for him to be awarded the goal? It was, that's why he's been awarded the goal. The lad's clearly trolling.
