  1. A Newcastle/Swansea/Hull treble tonight would be magical. Watch us all go and beat tonight now!
  2. Relegation is too good for this club. A total sh*t stain on English football. Hopefully they go down the same road as Portsmouth now.
  3. Sounds like they could well nick it tonight. Looking the most likely to score.
  4. Anyone else take the 8/1 on offer for the mackems to beat Leicester? I've got a tenner on them as I thought with all the carry on this week it would be just like them to go and win tonight. Reckon I've got a chance of the money the way that game is going.
  5. Bar 1892 is in the Leazes stand right? I thought that was the sports bar. Is the 1892 bit not just below the platinum club? Aye it is.
  6. How much are season tickets in the platinum? Around £880-900. At least they were when I was in there. Are they generally available pre-season or likely to be sold out? Plenty of availability there. It's cheaper if you sit in either of the wing sections than it is in the centre sections. You used to get a free program in there as well but they stopped that a couple of seasons ago.
  7. We're always going to struggle down our right hand side when we haven't got a proper right back playing. Hopefully Yedlin is back soon.
  8. Don't think so as the rest of the ground was full. It's been like that all season despite it being sold out but Saturday was even emptier than usual.
  9. We noticed that as well. It's been like that all season for some reason but Saturday was worse than ever. Strange as all seats up there are sold so it must be tickets holders just not turning up.
  10. Apparently Defoe missed training today.
  11. Reserves are playing Reading in the Quarter Finals of the Premier League Cup at Blue Flames at 1pm. It's a nice day and I'm off work so I'm going to have a walk along.
  12. Why should it be a comfortable game? The League table says Burton are a better side than Wigan and Saturday wasn't particularly comfortable, especially just after they equalised. In spite of this, you rarely get "comfortable" games at this stage of the season with so much at stake.
  13. They are a club that clearly needs relegation and change the whole club. They're £180m debt. Relegation is the last thing they need! If they go down they aren't doing what we're doing and coming straight back up either. We are £150m in the red for context. It's just numbers. It really isn't tbf. We are in debt to our owner and pay (virtually) no interest on that. They are over £180m.in debt and are reported to be paying 8% interest on a lot of that which is crippling them. Plus we are a far bigger club than they are and are capable of generating far more money than they do. Ask Portsmouth, Coventry, Bolton or Leeds fans if debt is merely just numbers.

  15. Not sure about that. It's a toss up between him and Richie. Richie is playing better at the moment but Shelvey looked on a different level to anyone during the first few months of the season and we really missed him over the Xmas period when he was suspended.
  16. If we win it's only going to be by the odd goal. We're not hammering anyone any time soon. I'd be more than happy with a repeat of yesterday with the same result which gets us one foot in the PL door and nearer to getting out of this God awful league, hopefully not to return for an very long time.
  17. You could say that about most pundits tbf.
  18. I watched it. Aberdeen were class tonight. Played some lovely one touch football. Dundee couldn't get near them.
  19. Just been reading the Man City match report on .com from this day in 2007. Seems like an announcement was made back then about expanding to 60,000. "And the nonsense continued even after this defeat with the unbelievable announcement that St. James' Park is to be expanded to 60,000, a matter of days ahead of what will surely be the least enthusiastic season ticket renewal in recent history".

  21. They'll beat Watford just to keep things interesting.
  22. Kath Cassidy's favourite NUFC manager in recent years; "There was a lot from him that went unseen or unnoticed". "He always gave her a great big Christmas present that would have cost a lot of money and it was just because he really liked her". "He sent things to her care home too. This Christmas he sent her a beautiful card and a scarf for her and a bit of perfume. Honestly what a really, really kind man".
