  1. If McClaren smiles at the post match press conference I may well have a walk along to the training ground on Monday morning and kick the living daylights out of him.
  2. Says a lot about Pulis when his team is being totally out passed by a Pardew side. He's a shocking manager, even more negative than Pardew which takes some doing. They're just not trying to play at all. Mind whoever decided to televise a Pardew v Pulis match wants hauled in front of his manager to explain on Monday morning.

    Sunderland

Couldn't agree more. The bloke is a complete ar$ehole.
  4. Man City and Sunderland both built stadiums too big for their fanbase hence all the cheap and free tickets they dish out. It's what happens when supply outstrips demand. Suppose it's better than the rows of empty seats you would often see at both stadiums but on the other hand it lessens the value of the season ticket somewhat.
  5. Not in terms of goals he won't. He's got no strikers instinct whatsoever. I think because he's been out for a while people forget how bad he is. in terms of general play he will, cisse has downed tools imo. Tend to agree but ultimately as a striker you are there to score goals and that is what they are judged on. Even in his current form I'd back Cisse over Rivière all day if the ball fell to either of them in the box. Can't really work out why we signed him as he was hardly prolific in France. Another Graham Carr masterstroke by the looks of it.

  7. It'll be worse than League 2 standard. Some of the teams aren't even full time.
  8. Agreed. Probably equates to around £2.5m a season which is a decent chunk of money. He'll have Sports Direct stores that barely turn over that amount in a year. Thought it would have dropped off more than that tbh. Anyone in any doubt about how many season ticket holders have chucked it just need to look at the stadium plan for the Norwich game which only looks around 50-55% occupied at the minute so clearly a lot of ex season ticket holders are still turning up but just paying match by match.
  9. Seen quite a bit of him recently as he's probably the most in form player in the French League at present. Must say he looks a class act. Normally I would say we should try to sign him up (especially with him being French) but I very much doubt we could convince a talent like that to come and sign for perennial relegation battlers such as ourselves.
  10. Tbf you've just made all that up. What a daft generalisation!
  11. Over 52,000 there for the corresponding fixture last season which was also live in the box.
  12. 3,161 of whom were away fans.
  13. As long as we have Colback and Anita in the middle it makes no difference who the other 9 players are.
  14. You're all over the place here, as are most people when it comes to Anita imo. A lot of the things he does atm he's clearly being asked to do. Again just think back to games under Pardew, he played much higher up and often got in and about the opposition penalty area. He's being told not to do that now, it's as plain as day. As for doing nothing with the ball he's rarely got any decent options for a forward pass and I'm guessing he's also bring told not to play it long. Lurching into criticisms of him not being physically imposing or whatever when we're discussing how he uses the ball and is literally the only player we have who does it is just pointless imo. He's a limited midfielder and we need to upgrade, but he's good at doing what he's being asked to do. The main problem is the overall system isn't working so he's being scapegoated by some for that when he's actually probably the only one doing what he's being asked I don't know what he's being asked to do but whatever it is he ain't very good at it btw.
  15. Thought this was quite amusing; http://www.afc-chat.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=39414#entry1220490
  16. Typical. The horse he was on about bolting to the cart turned out to be nothing more than an asthmatic pit pony.

    Lee Charnley

I would rather they did all their talking on the pitch but saying how they're incapable of doing that they think this is the next best thing. It's not and people can see straight through it.
  18. Good old Steve had just been sacked by a lower league club and was the cheap option. Ring any bells? Thing is if he takes us down he will turn into a very expensive appointment which will cost in excess of £100m.
  19. Looks like Radio Newcastle will be looking for a new commentator then.
  20. He's hopeless mind but not as culpable as those who appointed him or who sign his players for him.
  21. Could have had Austin for the same price and a chance of winning the last 3 games. No need to sign him when we can play De Jong up front on his own.
