Nah f*ck him. He whinged on about not being given more of a chance of first team football here and said young, English Keepers like him don't get a fair crack of the whip in the PL. He genuinely thought he was good enough.

Newcastle United vs Norwich City, Sunday 18/10/15 16:00 (Sky Sports 1)
Wallsendmag replied to BeloEmre's topic in Football
I still can't believe there is so many people still turning up. Out of the 8 other season ticket holders I used to go with only 2 of them still have them and out of the 14 people in my dept at work a couple of years ago 6 of us had season tickets, now there's only one. Most other fans I know who have had season tickets in the past or have gone regularly don't bother now so it's surprising 47k+ are still going every week. -

Looking at the seating plan there's less than 40k sold for this so far. They've even opened up the family enclosure for online sale which I've never known them do for a league game to try and tempt people with a £20 dad/bairn package. The East Stand which is always full has loads of empty seats. It's taken longer than it should have but maybe people are finally turning their backs on the club. 1-2 The worm has seemingly turned. Aren't we regularly dipping below 50k crowds this season? It does seem people are finally getting fed up with it all. Aye we've only passed the 50k Mark once this season (50,388), against Arsenal who brought 3,200 fans with them. The Chelsea crowd was only 48,500 and they had 3,200 there as well, Watford 47,500 with 2,500 away fans so we're down to around 45k home fans now which will drop further as this complete abortion of a season unfolds. -

Hopefully. Packed my ST in at the end of last season and this will be the first season in over 30 years that we're 5 home games in (+ 2 cup ties) without me setting foot inside SJP. And not a single regret. There's not one single part of that club deserving of my support. -

Looks like it's Allardyce.

And that's why Vieira was never a serious candidate. As long as Ashley is here, with the structure he wants in place below him we'll only ever have a patsy as manager. Whether that's Kinnear/Pardew/Carver/McClaren or the next joker it makes little difference. We'll always struggle to compete in the top league until he sells up.
-
Not sure it requires a chart to come to the conclusion that our goalkeeper faces lots of shots and concedes lots of goals tbf.
-
It's in "the Crystal Palace manager" topic.
-
Would have bought some magic beans no doubt.
-
Going to have a punt on "next permanent sunderland manager" I think. 16s seems very generous to me.
-
Ain't nobody lower than us. I thought he meant sides in lower leagues. Like Sheff Wed for example.
-
This. It won't be pretty but they won't go down if they appoint him.
-
Thought he was totally anonymous once more and the game just seemed to pass him by and of the 3 newspapers I have read today his merit marks were 3/10, 3/10, 4/10 so the reporters seemed to be in agreement with that.

What makes you think the next manager will be any better given the last 3 managers Ashley appointed before McClaren (Kinnear, Pardew, Carver)? For me the appointment of a good manager in the summer was crucial given how we ended last season and the huge TV money for next season but we got another cheap, English option. This is how it is until Ashley's gone. People need to wake up to that fact. Nothing is going to change on or off the pitch until he's gone. The last 8 years tells us that.
-
Given that we can't sack all of the players our only hope is to get someone in to motivate this rabble to roll their sleeves up when it gets a bit tough. McClaren is bereft of any motivational skills, he has no presence and no charisma. He didn't want to come in the first place which suggests to me he didn't believe he had what it would take to make it work. He'd been in contact with Carr for a good while beforehand and no doubt been told what the players were like to work with. He eventually came because we were stupid enough to appoint him once he been sacked for failing to instil belief in a wobbling Derby team. He has to go, we are 5 points from safety already, give it another 5 or 6 games and it will be too late. That seems to be the Mackem model to keep on changing manager instead of looking at the bigger picture and they're no better off than us. McClaren probably isn't the answer as most of us predicted but the problems at the club lie far deeper. He goes and we get another loser in and we're no better off. Until we rid ourselves of Ashley and his merry men this will always be where we're at. A losers mentality running right through the club and 2nd rate foreign plodders with hearts the size of peas recruited by a dinosaur of a chief scout. Ashley could have went for a top manager in the summer but they don't come cheap and wouldn't want Carr buying their players for them either so yet again we went for the cheap yes man, just like his last 3 appointments before him. No reason to think McClarens replacement would be any better than Kinnear/Pardew/Carver.
-
Allardyce or Pearson I reckon.
-
It's not the managers fault that the players collapsed like a deck of cards yesterday because they've got no backbone. They are adults and they are professional players. Conceding 5 goals in 13 minutes will rarely happen in schoolboy football, let alone supposedly the best league in the world (copyright sky sports). To absolve them of any blame is daft.
-
We're there because we're currently the worst team in the league. We were one of the worst teams in the league last season as well and only had our safety guaranteed on the final game. We've won 3 times in 2015. Maybe this squad of players just aren't as good as you think they are?
-
Lose the next 2 and I reckon that's it. No leadership anywhere at the club from the owner, right through the boardroom to the captain on the pitch and the other 10 tarts who aren't fit to pull the shirt on (well maybe not Mitrovic and Perez). They won't have the heart or the fight to pull us out of it and once we're well adrift, which is where we're heading, we'll stay there.

Man City 6-1 Newcastle - 03/10 - Post match reaction from p. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Wallsendmag replied to BlueStar's topic in Football
We got beat 6-1 man. Luckily they declared at 6. They scored the fastest 5 goals in premier league history as we waved the white flag and folded like a pack of cards. Stop trying to polish a turd man you're only kidding yourself. -
Nah there'll be bairns reading this no doubt.
-
This is our worst ever start in PL history. Our worst start since the 1800's! We certainly (and didn't) wouldn't be doing any worse under Pardew which says all you need to know about McClaren and this group of imposters out on the pitch. No point in typing what I think about Ashley because the swear filter would make it unreadable.
-
If Pardew was still manager (with Carver as assistant) we'd have more points than we have now. I can't be more damning of McClaren than that.
-
Should never got the job but he's the standard of manager we can expect from Ashley who has also delivered us Kinnear, Pardew and Carver. The one decent manager he did appoint soon got sick and walked. Today was just another in a long line of thrashings we've been been on the wrong end of during the Ashley regime and there'll be many more to come. Just glad I packed my season ticket in and am not paying into this farce any longer.
