He's not good enough. Can't cross a ball and spends most of his time running down blind alleys.

Newcastle United promoted back to the Premier League

Hopefully they lose to Fulham on Saturday and we beat Preston making their game in hand irrelevant. -
Agree but would like to see them win just to cut the mackems well adrift at the bottom.

Huddersfield play Fulham next and Reading go to Forest who've already beaten us, Brighton and Huddersfield at at home.

Are we allowed to criticise him yet?

Think Lacelles can count himself lucky he's playing and Mbemba slightly unlucky he's been dropped. Other than that, it looks ok. -

Aye we're not scoring many and aren't keeping many clean sheets down the other end either. Really need to win tomorrow just to take some of the pressure off and pile some on Huddersfield who play after us and have a trickier game on paper but I've got a feeling we won't win. We rarely do things the easy way after all. -
Tbf the fact that we were managed by Steve McClaren was what relegated us last season. There was enough in that squad for a semi competent manger to have kept us up.

Course it's not a cliche ya daft tw*t

Worked hard but sadly for him strikers are judged ultimately on how many goals they score and he comes up short in that department. Expect Rafa to try to offload him in the summer.
-
Put himself about and did a few decent things last night but a striker with little goalscoring threat is not what we need.

Jamaal Lascelles (now playing for League One Leicester City)

He's got the attention span of a Titus Bramble. Not sure you can do anything about that and that's my main concern with him. -

If he's 29 now, yes when he was 24. -

We should have signed Shawcross about 5 years ago. -

Would agree because he's useless but then again the alternative is Diame who hardly covered himself in glory when he came on last night and has also been sh*t this season. I've yet to see anyone in the team who can play in that number 10 position. There isn't anyone in our current squad who can play it effectively. That's why its baffling that Rafa hasn't at least tried to go with 2 strikers, especially at home, instead of persisting with Perez and Diame. One of the (many) positions that will need strengthening in the summer that's for sure. I don't think the 2 strikers would work be much better mind. Both Gayle and Mitrovic would want to be in the number 9 role, Gayle for me has to play on the last man otherwise you'd lose his goalscoring instinct imo. Think it shows how unbalanced the squad is. Possibly not but one of my favourite parts of this season was when Mitrovic came on for the last 20 minutes at home to Norwich and him and Gayle absolutely destroyed them. Norwich just didn't have a clue how to defend against the pair of them. It was a joy to watch. Obviously that wouldnt happen every week but I would love to have seen them get a little bit more time on the pitch together especially with Perez and Diame being so poor. -

This "nothing to play for" thing is a nonsense, isn't it? People band it about as if it means something, but it's just a throwaway platitude that doesn't take into account the complexities of real life. For all we know, Ipswich will play better with no pressure on them Like we did on the last day against Spurs. People throw it about like the absolutely relevant point it is. So there is a well documented decrease in performance from teams with "nothing to play for"? Aye. Remember Everton at sunderland last season? -
Thought he was poor. Found himself in some good positions but let imself down every time by either making the wrong decision or through a lack of quality. Without doubt he's been the biggest disappointment this season.

Needs Clark stood next to him to tell him what to do. Total liability when playing alongside Mbemba or Hanley. -
That was nothing compared to what happened to him once outside. The stewards were trying to get him down to the police van waiting to take him away which was parked outside the Strawberry when he was ambushed by dozens of Toon fans. He literally had the sh*t kicked out of him before the police got control of the situation. He'll be in a hell of state this morning.
