  1. Clearly he's not cut out to be a goalkeeper at this level or even a professional sportsman for that matter but we've got to muddle on by with him for another month or so then hope Darlow is decent.
  2. You're laughing but there's actually people on this very messageboard who wanted him played as a more defensive midfielder (they'll know who they are) when we signed him. I don't think they were. I can't even remember saying it myself but people were clearly wanting us not to play 2 defensive midfielders, which was fair. Mole toon or whatever he's called was. I argued with him for ages about it.

  4. He'll get sent off next week.
  5. Let's see if McClaren can work his magic again during his half time team talk.
  6. Don't know of anyone who wanted him as manager but once he was confirmed everyone got behind him, mainly because he wasn't Pardew or Carver in all honesty, but really he's just turned out to be what people thought he would be, slightly worse if anything. People want him gone and there's a strong case for that but we'd just get another deadbeat yes man in who isn't qualified to do the job but is so grateful to get it he'll do it on the cheap and won't dare question the ridiculous policies in place at the club. For me they might as well keep him till the end of the season. We'll more than likely go down, probably will if they sacked him anyway but even if we do what's the big deal? I don't know of anyone who enjoys watching NUFC play in the PL anymore so if we do drop out the league, firstly it'll be well deserved, secondly we'll win a few more games and thirdly it'll cost the fat man a fortune as opposed to the fortune he'll pocket if we were to stop up.
  7. I honestly think he is the man Ashley will turn to in a couple of weeks time.
  8. Lose the next two and it's time Ashley brought in the next no hoper.
  9. Another instantly forgetful game in the greatest league in the whole wide world.
  10. Just thinking about all these daft comments he's coming out with now. At the start of the season "judge me after 8 games", then 8 games later "those first 8 games were just like a pre season, judge me from Sunday". Just ridiculous really and at any other PL club the media would have been all over it.
  11. Can't believe he was only 69. It's 30 years since he won the League title with Everton which means he was only 39. Always thought he looked like a bloke in his 50's back then. RIP.
  12. It isn't being destroyed. It's been destroyed.
  13. Agree with all that except the last sentence. This group of players haven't got the guts to go toe to toe with them in a derby environment regardless of the Norwich result. They've bottled it time and time again and I don't expect any chance next week. As has been said, puts massive pressure on tomorrow.
  14. Just had an email off NUFC asking if I've got my ticket for Sunday yet. Not only that but they've also enclosed a seating plan outlining where all the cheapest tickets are available in the ground. Never known them do that before.
  15. Great news. It was a brilliant occasion this year. That'll probably be the next time I set foot inside SJP.
  16. Just seems a daft thing to come out with. We're 8 games in and we've amassed 3 points from a possible 24. What happens if we lose on Sunday? Does he say the season starts the week after when we'll be a quarter of the way through it?
  17. He's starting to irritate me now like. You can't write off the first 8 games of the season (24 possible points) then say that it was more of an extended pre season. If he did bother to look at the league table he would realise we've already been cut adrift from 17th place. Not doubting we've had a tough start but games against Southampton, Swansea, West Ham and Watford should be classed as winnable, or we should at least be looking to get something from them, but 1 point from the 12 available against them is a pathetic return.
  18. Nah f*ck him. He whinged on about not being given more of a chance of first team football here and said young, English Keepers like him don't get a fair crack of the whip in the PL. He genuinely thought he was good enough.
  19. I still can't believe there is so many people still turning up. Out of the 8 other season ticket holders I used to go with only 2 of them still have them and out of the 14 people in my dept at work a couple of years ago 6 of us had season tickets, now there's only one. Most other fans I know who have had season tickets in the past or have gone regularly don't bother now so it's surprising 47k+ are still going every week.
  20. Looking at the seating plan there's less than 40k sold for this so far. They've even opened up the family enclosure for online sale which I've never known them do for a league game to try and tempt people with a £20 dad/bairn package. The East Stand which is always full has loads of empty seats. It's taken longer than it should have but maybe people are finally turning their backs on the club. 1-2 The worm has seemingly turned. Aren't we regularly dipping below 50k crowds this season? It does seem people are finally getting fed up with it all. Aye we've only passed the 50k Mark once this season (50,388), against Arsenal who brought 3,200 fans with them. The Chelsea crowd was only 48,500 and they had 3,200 there as well, Watford 47,500 with 2,500 away fans so we're down to around 45k home fans now which will drop further as this complete abortion of a season unfolds.

Hopefully. Packed my ST in at the end of last season and this will be the first season in over 30 years that we're 5 home games in (+ 2 cup ties) without me setting foot inside SJP. And not a single regret. There's not one single part of that club deserving of my support.

    Looks like it's Allardyce.

    John Carver

And that's why Vieira was never a serious candidate. As long as Ashley is here, with the structure he wants in place below him we'll only ever have a patsy as manager. Whether that's Kinnear/Pardew/Carver/McClaren or the next joker it makes little difference. We'll always struggle to compete in the top league until he sells up.
  25. Not sure it requires a chart to come to the conclusion that our goalkeeper faces lots of shots and concedes lots of goals tbf.
