This is my (ever cynical) thinking. I have every confidence Rafa is an honest man but he's subject to the whims of liars and madmen.

The point is there, though poorly worded. There are significant numbers who no matter what the club do, trot the 'what is a club' line and cite a more than a club rhetoric that has just been destroyed by the very people within it. I don't think it equates to a generation of sheeple but some things you hear....dear me.

True, weve been spending 80M every season since Ashley took over. On English players I don't see the 80m panic spend as a policy change per se. The funds available and transfer policy aren't the same thing. We're still going for the same deals that don't address the imbalance the team. Fed up of hearing about this 80m. It'll be chump change in a few years within the prem and the club makes significant profits each year. The English players thing; I was impressed by the Shelvey signing and Townsend has a goal in him, don't really care about English players though and that seems to be the reason they were signed over needs elsewhere. I get the policy change argument; but McClaren still had little say and acquisitions were still based on Carrs little list of favours and ultimately have been our downfall this season. It's hardly been a case of but things have been so different? How did it go so wrong?

I haven't seen obvious change in transfer policy.

Ashley seems to of the belief that giving money to dickheads and stepping back like pontius Pilate is acceptable and absolves him. It's just as negligent as him being overbearing.

It's all moot really. Depends how much say they have on transfers. McClaren was dogshit, don't get me wrong but he was thrown under the bus with transfers. He had little say imo.

His delivery is terrible imo. It's got progressively worse the longer he's been here but I do think it was okay to start with. His shooting was pretty good as well and disappeared as well in the last 12 months. I agree with this. He came here as a professional who wanted to play to win. Then he clearly must have realised not many of his first team regular colleagues gave a f***, realised what a p***y soft coward of a w*nker we have for a captain, that the manager was a total fraud, his replacement was seen as a joke, the CEO was under qualified, the "board" (as was) gave out instructions to "not make the cup a priority" (which to me says "lose on purpose lads"), the other mentality of "don't win too much, we just want to stay up, not play in Europe", the new manager coming in was underwhelming and also a bad punchline, the recruitment policy was "buy 28 'number 10s' and other centrally based midfielders and play them out of position, f*ck the defence, its not profitable" and I think the hopelessness has just got to him. Look at him in the carver half season, he was arguably our best player by a mile. If you care, you can only do so for so long before colo's, and everyone else's, apathy seeps into your soul too. It's 100% this. People wonder why players come here and 40 odd all leave having demonstrated the same failings. It's instituional.

Rafa's problem is a team that has been recruited poorly and seldom devleoped. Unless they come out now and say you're getting this....etc etc. Keep us up (unlikely) I have no faith the club will do the right thing. Instead it's can kicking talk of inquests and bullshit interviews playing pontius pilate. Sissoko is an athlete with no football skills, shocking technique and zero intelligence. De Jong is not an athlete but you can tell he knows what should happen next and can execute. Problem is his legs will likely fall off I know. I was just demonstrating that people saying drop these players who aren't showing fight need to temper that with the fact that there just as many problems with those in reserve. It was just an example.
