  1. Zico just quit as coach of Iraq. He'd be awesome I reckon, but like previous posts have said, he'd have to be happy working with MA and, more likely than not, the current group of coaching/backroom staff. From his wiki page (relating to when Keegan walked): On 8 September 2008, Zico revealed that he would be interested taking over the vacant managers position at Newcastle United following the resignation of Kevin Keegan. He is quoted saying "The Newcastle job is one that I would be very interested in taking. It would be a privilege and an honour, I've always wanted to experience the Premier League as I believe I could enjoy much success coaching in England." He also commented that he isn't bothered about the structure of the board at Newcastle United, "I am used to working alongside technical directors so this isn't an issue for me. It's normal for me to work in those conditions." Don't think he had a very good time at Olympiacos, getting sacked after threats of violence from fans (just taken from the wiki article). Not sure of the details on that one. The article also suggests that he is sporting director of Flamengo, although I think that might not be true...? <edit: he quit that role after 4 months - GREEN LIGHT MIKE> Anyway, I can but dream.
  2. Don't think so. The writing has been on the wall for a long time, but results last season papered over the cracks. Under Pardew we have failed to address ANY of these issues, and it would appear that he simply does not know very much about coaching football. Don't think for one second it'll happen - but we should sack the bastard. Absolutely not good enough, and no sign that he either knows how to, or is prepared to change.

  6. As opposed to a non-human wall with legs? Aye. That would be daft, like.
  7. One of their players was quoted this week as saying "Tiote is a human wall with legs" apparently

  9. Me too - I was semi there! I'm stuck in work, watching on ITV4 player, so the cleaners might have had a bit of a fright, like.
  10. I agree, it should be easy. But if it was easy then surely he wouldn't show signs of tiredness as regularly as he does. At 25, he's had a good period of time to improve on it. Our fitness/endurance/conditioning training can't be too bad, or we'd have more players looking exhausted halfway through the second half. I think it's just him. Would be interesting to see his stats to see how far he runs on the pitch during an average game. Maybe he covers loads of ground, or offers up more sprints than others. Could be a contributing factor I guess, but I don't think he particularly chases down balls or players more than anyone else.
  11. I think he's a good player, but I do agree with this. For all his positives, it seems his fitness is something that is might be an ongoing issue for him in his career. As a professional footballer he should be able to put in a good 90 minute shift, but so frequently tails off fairly early on. Might have asthma or something (?) Should do well at Reading, think it was a good time for everyone for him to move, but would have been happy for him to remain here as a squad player. Just Facebooked a Reading mate of mine - probably over-egged the pudding a bit, but thought he could do with cheering up: Danny Guthrie - bloody good signing Stu. Excellent distribution and creative in attack, he can play on the wing, but is best through the middle. Quality corners and free kicks as well - he should weigh in with a few goals. Does tend to visibly tire beyond the 75 min mark, but keeps up with the game and reads situations well. Sad to see him leave, but he was going to struggle to get games. Hope he settles in well and helps bring success to Reading... and just for your benefit mate - come on URZzZ!

    Lookalikes

    Hahahaha! Jonas ftw!
  13. I can recommend the Sunderland game to you. Highly watchable affair.
  14. From wikipedia: "In July 2011 Dyer signed a one-year contract with Queens Park Rangers.[41] He made his debut on the opening day of the Premier League season against Bolton. He made a bright start having a goal disallowed, however was stretchered off with a suspected broken metatarsal after just four minutes." So maybe not so bad for the lad, which is good news for him and QPR I guess. Still - he is a proper sicknote. Whats the betting that he's injured in his first game back following recovering from this latest setback?
  15. Tooj what is your avatar? I can't make it out. I was looking at that - it's Gazza sprintin with the police towards Raoul Moat. He's carrying fishing rods, beers and chicken. BRILLIANT!
