  1. Good on him. I hope he is a success. I was a big critic of his time with England, as were many people, but I think he was the wrong man for the job at the time as he really wasn't ready for that sort of role. As a result he was always on to a loser but I do believe he was let down by the poor performance of the players in that qualification period. You can't always lay the blame at the foot of the gaffer, even though his selections and tactics certainly didn't help. And getting El Tel in to assist, bad call from day one there, but not entirely his fault and he seems to be restoring his reputation abroad.

  3. Can we offload him to Leeds now seeing as he's a championship player and they are now promoted back to the championship.
  4. Best football song ever. Quoted for truth. http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/pages/World-in-motion-and-the-John-Barnes-rap-for-2010-World-Cup/107687609265181 www.twitter.com/johnbarnes2010
  5. Got a load of monkey hangers wandering around the streets of Brentford today. Was half tempted to go and watch them try and stay up, especially as they were giving away free kids tickets at McDonalds. But then I remembered that I couldn't be arsed, and the weather is minging.
  6. You were stood next to me in fairness. Probably aided your success a great deal. No fecker wing manned me. I think I managed to repell every piece of gusset in the whole of Newcastle by the time I left. I have definitely lost the touch.
  7. To be honest, if you leave a load of cones in the middle of Newcastle, on a student night there is a 100% chance that they will either: A) all disappear never to be seen by again by anybody (except the zany rah's who are using them as some kind of modern art display in the student union) or B) they will end up blocking a road. Simples.
  8. I left before sinners, would of been nightmare with my bags etc in there. Was good laugh before that though. i We'll have to a meet-up sometime soon, i know a couple of other guys from the forum quite well, i'll get them involved as well. So you missed the 8 of us in the cage singing oh coloccini. That was mint, they threw 4 of us out and left 4 in. I think it was Rocker who was removed with, shall we say, excessive force.
  9. What point did you leave, i.e after which bar?? I really can't remember. People just gradually drifted off. I left with Greg and Dino, with Slim and Stu still in Madam Koos. I think everyone else had gone by that point. Don't ask me what time it was though. I have no idea.
  10. That's Neesy. He was getting the coach back to London after so I think he wanted to stay comfortable. Jeans are very restrictive, especially with the lack of space on the bus. EDIT: Got there before me Neesy. I was defending your style mate. I would have been in shorts and flip flops if I wasn't going out on the lash till the early hours.
  11. Haha thats me, ya tit! Think I'm standing in front of the toon badge i find the non-essential wearing of a tie more offensive. What do you make of Slim's full on man in black outfit then?
  12. You'll find that your accent will adapt to your surroundings if you spend long enough in one place. Look at Jan Molby for example. He virtually sounds completely scouse. Also my mum has spent the last 36 years living in London and she has completely lost her North East accent.
  13. I understand your point but gambling addiction is a very dangerous thing. No matter how much money you have. Having managed betting shops for 5 years I can tell you countless stories of people who have ruined their lives because they didn't know when to stop. I also know there is very little you can say to someone who has a gambling problem to make them stop. If Chopra wants to keep betting he will, no matter what measures Dave Jones tries to put in place.
  14. If it was in my size I would have bid on it. I have a bit of a thing for footy shirts on ebay, particularly old newcastle ones. Finally got the Grandad collar mid 90's home shirt after being outbid on them for the last few months. Now I want the marron and blue hoops away shirt and that old yellow away with the green flashes. I had them all as a kid but obviously they are long since lost and would be a bit snug these days even if I had them.
  15. i know a few, myself included, that would be temptrd to go if they played at a proper football ground and not some place that would have the atmosphere of the moon even when full. Football should not be played at athletics stadiums. Period. It doesn't matter where they are or who is playing. It's just not right. Are you listening Rotherham!!

    José Mourinho

He's a cunt. He knows he's a cunt. He knows that you know he's a cunt. He loves the fact that you think he's a cunt, in fact it probably makes him horny as fuck that he knows that you know that he knows that he's a cunt. I love him. He absolutely cracks me up and you know he's is laughing to himself as everyone gets so worked up over the latest thing he's said. And for everyone who say's they'd never watch one of his teams. If he was unveiled as our manager and won us trophies I wouldn't give a flying fuck through a rolling doughnut if the rest of the world hated us for dour boring football. Can't wait to see him back in England.
  17. Not if your name is Mr J Mourinho Esq.
  18. Attendances do rise after promotions, even at the lower levels. However if the success stops the crowds will disappear again. Down at Hampton (Graham Wood's former club) we had a great spell where we got promoted from Ryman 1, reached the playoff final of Ryman Prem, won the Ryman Prem, finished 3rd in Conf South losing in the PO final then finished 2nd in Conf South losing in the PO final again in consecutive seasons. Average attendance went up from 300 to nearly 700 but one bad season (flirting with relegation before eventually finishing mid-table) has seen the newcomers leave and crowds drop back to around 400.
  19. Shcoking that they have only signed one player since the start of the 2008/2009 season, and that was on loan. How bad have Celtic been to lose consecutive league titles to them.
  20. I thought that was a decent article, Joey said some good things and I hope he's turned his life around and I hope we see the benefit of his improved attitude and lifestyle. Unfortunately I believe the football world will just be sitting back and waiting for him to screw it up. It will take a good few years before anyone accepts that he is a completely changed man.

    Gateshead FC

I've had loads of experience with them through my local side Hampton & Richmond, we've had plenty of run-ins with them over the last six years. Bunch of wankers who think they are a big club because they have fans who supported a big club once. BUt then I'm sure I've had this debate on here before. I laughed my tits off when they dropped out of the play-offs. I love gateshead as well as the chairman/owner was the chairman of Hampton for a couple of years and sold all his shares in the club to the supporters trust for £1. Lovely bloke is Graham Wood.
  22. That sounds no more incisive or certain than the chatter on here over the last few weeks.
  23. fyp No, they were actually discussing it somewhere. Read it on a football website, can't remember which one.
  24. The money gets split equally between the rest of the championship clubs, I read somewhere.
