Harsh to put Douglas in Tier 3 - not sure why he isn't in Tier 2.
-
Always liked Hayden - it'll be a shame to see him go.
-
I think my favourite is Robert's second vs Spurs in the 4-0. I've always preferred it to the volley in the same game - not sure why, but just love the audacity of it. Honourable mentions to Shearer's side foot volley against Villa, Shearer when he rolled Desailly and pinged it, and the Shearer volley vs Everton.

I feel there's quite a range of players between Botman and Rodon though?
-
A lot of articles on our transfers seem to suggest we are putting a high price on Premier League experience, but then linking us to Rodon (13 PL games) and Nat Phillips (17 PL games). Personally I'd rather take a chance on player with a higher ceiling than those two.

Another player represented by the same agents as Trippier and Wood....

I'm never going to get involved in these twitter spats, but the audacity of one of the particular individuals who takes the moral highground on various transgressions by others (which, don't get me wrong, should absolutely be called out) is absolutely amazing.

Still surprised that we haven't gone after AVB. Unless he's also not interested.
-
Emery would be a great appointment.
-
I can't see Potter coming here to be honest - not right now anyway. Didn't he turn Spurs down in the summer?
-
Spot on - technically he wasn't that good and that's what ultimately let him down. As you say, Solano was a far superior player technically.

Wait until their first move is bring in Fat Sam on a short term contract to keep us up...
-
Wonder if we're going to need someone on an interim basis who will just ensure we stay up? And it might need to be some who is used to working with less gifted players than Conte is used to... But then Howe doesn't strike me as an absolute guarantee against relegation. In some ways Rafa would be perfect - he has already kept this team up comfortably.

Very much agree with this - I'm not entirely certain that NUST is fit for purpose, but it seems odd to be complaining that they're not doing something that they're weren't set up to do. Maybe they need to morph into a protest group, but that's not what they are. Personally can't get my head round a load of non-members complaining about the actions of a member organisation - especially given that a lot of the same non-members have spent a long time disparaging NUST on twitter.

Caveated by the fact that I don't want him to ever be involved in the club again... I actually thought Llambias began to get the club a bit towards the end. Could be mistaken though...

Trying to work if there any managers that I'd prefer to have Bruce over. I'm not convinced I can think of one. Maybe Pulis? But even that's a stretch. At least Kinnear would offer some comedic value.

It feels to me that within English football culture, we are always dancing around the edges of what happened at Wembley. I don't know if something needs to fundamentally change or not (or could even be changed), as no doubt lots of people don't see see any issue with getting absolutely battered before a game and simply regard it as part of the fan experience. And I totally accept that a football ground shouldn't need to be a sanitised safe space and the edge that comes with fervent support is a massive part of football.

Definitely need to work a way to either control the game from central midfield a bit better and/or provide a bit more drive from midfield. The three of Rice, Phillips and Mount just didn't quite work for this game in the second half. Hopefully Bellingham can offer something a bit different there in the future.

Sancho is looking great.
-
Grealish is clearly talented, but there's no clear evidence that he's better than any of Foden, Mount, Sterling, Sancho or, after yesterday, Saka. It's a bit of a coin flip as to which of those you play, yet when Grealish isn't picked some people are acting like Southgate has dropped a prime Maradona.
-
Genuinely don't quite get the scale of clamour to pick Grealish. He's clearly a talented player, but it's hardly a great travesty he isn't being picked. If we are going to change any of Mount, Foden or Sterling, I'd actually rather bring in Sancho anyway.
-
100% - he'd be a great purchase for them. Reckon he walks into pretty much any team outside the top 6 and improves them a lot.
-
Genuinely curious about this as I'm sure I saw something about this - what anti-competition cases has he won in the past?
