Isn't that Craig Hope guy right quite often? His article seems to have a lot of detail in it.
  2. Will there ever have been three 'bigger' clubs, either by attendances or trophies, to have been relegated in one season if us, Sunderland and Villa go down? Quick count on wikipedia says 21 trophies for Villa, 11 trophies for us and 8 for Sunderland.

Even if it meant working for Fat Mike? I'd feel conflicted. Obviously easy money for doing things badly, but imagine working for Mike.

Out of interest, if Mike rang you up tomorrow and offered you Lee's job - would you take it?
  5. Yeah - he's one of the few plus points of recent weeks. And he isn't even that good - he just looks vaguely ok.
  6. He does lack basic footballing skills - like being able to control the ball or be in control of it when he's running.

I genuinely can't understand why any fully functioning person could keep this guy in charge. He should never have been appointed - but how can you persist with him when you have a body of evidence to show that he is completely incompetent?
  8. I thought he might put three in the middle with Gini and Sissoko out wide and I have no problems with us setting out to keep it tight, but I don't get the choice of Gouffran.
  9. All I want to know after reading that Mirror article is how Stephen Ross managed to accumulate enough newts to be worth 4.8 billion.
  10. Even with their form, they ain't going down. We will be lucky to catch their current points score. Well - we're down if we don't get their current points score. And their run in is pretty tough.
  11. A draw keeps Palace in it - so it's not worst result.
  12. It's 2 of us, Sunderland & Norwich. Swansea are 3 points ahead of us. And we play them at home. No way are they out of it. Difficult end to the season. Face Norwich, Bournemouth and Villa this month. Goal difference is much better which is an additional point. Only Norwich and Sunderland have a comparable goal difference. Yep - if they don't get much out of those three games, they are in serious trouble - their run in is very hard. After their game against Villa, they could quite easily not win another match.

  14. Can't rule Swansea out, surely?
  15. I imagine they'll pick up enough points to stay up but they don't have an easy run in at all.

    Football pet hates

I think it's a terrible celebration regardless of who is doing it, but would agree that Lingard makes it plunge to new depths of crapness.
  17. Putting aside any bias we might have, where do people think that the peak Keegan side and peak Robson side would finish in recent Premier League seasons? I am tempted to exclude this season as it might skew people's opinions a bit.
  18. Give soldiers Michael Owen's wages.
  19. Gary Jacob ‏@garyjacob 22m22 minutes ago Newcastle want around £5m for Papiss Cisse and he wants two-year deal - putting off Chinese clubs, who tried for Pellè but told no by Saints Would seem a bit odd to try and sell Cisse now.

I am not sure how people are getting away from the whole killing/ending someone's life thing. If you get in a car and you are drunk, intent is irrelevant. Getting in the car drunk is all the intent you need - and quite frankly, should need.

Pretty tough ground to debate, but McCormick killed two children while drunk. Are people honestly saying that what Johnson has done is worse than killing two children? Honestly? I'm not defending what Johnson has done (which I hope goes without saying)m but come on. Quite frankly if you've killed someone or sexually abused someone, I would hope that no club would even think about offering you a contract.
  22. Wasn't there a 10 page discussion just the other day about players moving to China purely for money? Managers are absolutely no different. Offer a good manager enough and he will come.

    Steve McClaren

What's ridiculous in keeping McClaren is that even if he keeps us up.. Does anyone think it's going to be any different next season?
