  1. Thought he looked very good last night - some of his first time passing was brilliant. I do worry a little bit about his physique though - he is genuinely tiny.
  2. Defensively he has looked solid enough. It's just that he offers nothing going forward. It's not even just the woeful standard of his crossing, it's also the way he slows down any attack we have with his ponderous technique and inability to attack space.
  3. At training, I would like someone give him a bag of balls and don't let him go home until he has learnt to cross properly.
  4. Can someone bring the real tiote back?
  5. For a bloke who must be around 6"2 and 13-14 stone, he is pretty awful in the air and at holding the ball up.

    Alan Pardew

A small squad is a major part of the problem. Other managers are doing better with less. And we've used about 30 players so far. Did many managers do better with less last season? Didn't think so. Time moves on. It's not last May. It wasn't so long ago that it is no longer relevant. It doesn't help us in our current situation. Falling from 5th to 14th should be cause for concern instead of dreaming about last season. But it's completely 'short termist' to overlook it. He worked brilliantly with a small squad last year and badly so far this year. On any sensible analysis of Pardew, you wouldn't then ignore last season's achievements. Equally you wouldn't ignore this season's shortcomings. And I haven't done so - I don't think anyone could. Unfortunately, key players being out of form, some injuries and suspensions haven't helped - things which we didn't have as much of last year.

    Football pet hates

I think people whinging about the Europa League is my pet hate.
  11. I reckon that would have been the push/shoulder charge would have been a foul anywhere else on the pitch to be honest. As Sky said - could have gone either way, but I can't see how anyway can definitively say that that wasn't a penalty.
  12. Roy Hodgson? Brendan Rodgers? Sam Allardyce? http://i.imgur.com/S0W6N.gif Jury's still out on Rodgers, I think he'll be okay at Liverpool. Neither Hodgson nor Big Sam has ever run the kind of fluid, attacking football that Martinez preaches, which is the kind of football it takes to win these days. Playing devil's advocate here - but 'fluid, attacking football' is clearly not the only kind of football it takes to win these days. That's a bit of a sweeping generalisation.
  13. I am not even convinced that his transfer record is that exemplary. Although the same could be said for most managers in all honesty.
  14. I hate that song!! Have heard at a fair few away matches. Gets incredibly tedious as it is usually only sung by about 8 people.
  15. Refused to talk about injuries. And correctly so. Most teams in the league would win a fair few games if they had their first choice side available. Managers go from being decent to very good when they can inspire a depleted side to victory. I like Martinez's management style a lot. Would be very happy if he managed us one day but I think he'll have bigger suitors. Who would they beat? Each other?
  16. That's ridiculous. Some players don't gel well together. That isn't necessarily the manager's fault.
  17. I am quite glad that Sky Sports isn't working at the moment. It gives me an excuse to go and play football and remain blissfully unaware of what disaster is unfolding.

    Pardew Out?

Aye, Pardew shamefully booted him out as quick as he could. Shamefully? Love a bit of melodrama this early in the day.
  19. Not many of those Spurs youngsters turned out to be that good...
  20. i would have him culpable for the 2nd goal, Williamson was never going to win that header against Jones, the bloke is a giant who also has a great leap and the ball forward was perfect for him to get the run and leap on Williamson I'm not sure of their exact heights but Williamson looks a fair bit taller than Jones. No reason he can't win that header. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Men_Can%27t_Jump

    Pardew Out?

If we were to sack Pardew (and I don't think we should) - this is the guy we should go for... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragan_Stojkovi%C4%87
  22. Think a 'peak' Taylor is a better player than a 'peak' Dabizas.
  23. I have a feeling we might get something from this match. No idea why though.
