I love bold outlandish statements, stealing this one. You seem to agree about my first statement then?

ive made 2 statements which may seem like hyperbole, but; 1) his pen in the 5-1 against the mackems is among the best ive ever seen 2) his 20 mins sub appearence against spurs at home last year, equaliser inclusive, was amongst the best 20 mins I have seen a newcastle striker have, he didnt put a foot wrong and was just a beast, Drogba-esque... bring it on!

Have a look at the train prices all the way through. Failing that Edinburgh flights will be released soon hopefully I checked the Eurostar site and is the nearest stop Avignon? doesnt look overly close...why couldn't we have just drawn Malaga? much easier to travel to, have had £25 flights in the past

Am looking to go to the Bordeaux game, what do you reckon is the most cost-effective way of getting there? I'd probs book wed-friday of work. Was considering driving but like 1000-odd miles is a trek and would take a whole day in itself just to get there

Thing is, it would have tarnished his career for me if he had joined liverpool (i know he has gone to sydney...) but i would have loved to have seen him play live also, as i didnt make it to the Juve game 10-odd years ago another iconic striker retiring (and by that, i mean move to the A League...)

I want to see them just lob balls at him...as if its Crouch still playing, so just defenders powering 200mph balls at his head, and for the crowd to jeer him for not being able to hold the ball up...
-
Are you that knob off ESPN who was essentially advocating that Vuckic might as well retire because he passed instead of taking a shot? I love ESPN but yeah, that was a low point for their coverage...i prefer ESPN, minus Waddle's attempt at speaking, to sky sports though...

I think Ba has shown more this season (even his goal aside) but then again, Cisse could have scored if not for a good save by Guzan...even when Ba is off form, he still has the physical presence which is a benefit to the side, but then again Cisse needs to get his sharpness somehow... its a hard decision! I just feel like we need to mix it up somehow, we feel toothless despite having one of the best set of forwards in the league!

Was about the ask the SAME s***. probably, we'd probs be a step up for the starting right back for the current champions

I basically have Milan as a 2nd team, and my Juve fan mate was laughing at them offloading Bendtner to Milan...a few days later and Milan have Bojan and Juve have Bendtner...sometimes, football is correct.

We all know the history and character of Barton etc. but, in a way, isnt it nice seeing an English player go abroad? I'd rather it someone better, but its just refreshing to see him go abroad rather than to another QPR type (and we all know that he would have probably got a half-decent club despite his most recent problems)

None of that lot would get a game for our second string. Funnier because there was a time that Huntington was tipped for big things, Chopra was the second coming, Pattison was tipped as the next Gazza, O'Brien was a classic old fashioned hit and run, tons of pace, crossing winger and Ramage and Edgar had potential to be solid squad players. Rose tinted glasses are a belter, maybe we will be saying the same in six years time about Ameobi, Vuckic, Abeid, Bigi, Ferguson, Tavs etc.. I can see Tavernier outperforming Simpson mind

The worst bit of that interview, "well, if the club happens to be located right next to my house, then great!"... Basic translation "Ill only train if training takes place in my garden...even then, ill probably take the helicopter to get there..."
-
This. Also saw highlights of him in Holland where he seems to be very comfortable bringing the ball forward, not just sitting back.

Not just him even. There were plenty of strikers at the time individually superior to any of those four, Shevchenko, Batistuta, Raúl, Shearer, Kluivert, Bergkamp etc. To be fair to Fergie though, I think he meant the 4 as a quartet, since they were fairly interchangeable. I'm not even sure he can say that now, since the drop-off from Van Persie-Rooney to Hernández-Kagawa would be significant imo. fairplay, was going to say though... http://i1-news.softpedia-static.com/images/news2/Christian-Vieri-Gets-into-a-Fight-in-a-Milan-Restaurant-2.jpg

Funny, earlier in the thread, someone had a go at another for using the word "spastic"...i wish we were as "classy" as they say they are...
-

-
