What a place Italy is

I mean, sure, still want my club's owner to be mega-rich
-
Would be concerned if any potential owner didn't "reek of money"

The man exists simply to get a rise out of people

Mike Ashley has really done a number on us

I think it's safe to say I'm fully erect

I understand your country's poor journalism standards make you wary (on top of Ashley), but that's literally how reporting works, especially when reporting on bigger subjects. FT had a source close to the situation, that's how most info gets into the press. Outlets as large and reputable as FT don't just print things for the sake of it unless they're sure and trust their source, and if they do they heads roll. Honestly, with everything that's come out plus the statement, there's nothing to suggest that nothing is happening. Quite clearly people are interested, whether Ashley is actually serious and willing to meet an asking price is the main question.

Absolutely f*** all in there to suggest she's going to make a bid "in the next few weeks". Almost like they see a story and know it's clickbait-tastic for easy work, nothing that has been written over the last few days has convinced me that anything is any closer than it was when the club was put up for sale despite what the media is trying to convince us. Financial Times not reputable enough for you?

Calm down everyone, there's no way Parky will be outdone by well-sourced journalism

Didn't know we were allowed to have this much hope.

I feel like they'll just squeak by for some reason. There's just so much shit at the bottom of the table, Bolton has pretty much already taken one spot. Obviously a better investment than a Premier League club though

Columbus is definitely a far different city than what it was a decade ago. A lot of Crew's good support comes from people in MLS' key demo staying there after college or moving there, which wasn't happening until recently. Just seeing the general reaction online, I think the owner has wanted out for a while. Even with the city growing and a fanbase there, it's still a small market. They apparently do barely any advertising in the city, there's no attempt to get more fans. I'm guessing while both Austin and C-Bus are growing and have young professionals, Austin has way more corporate opportunities. Pretty shitty, whatever the reasoning.

Yeah, it's one of those early SSS with a stage behind one goal, and no one considered the afternoon sun when building it either, it's blinding if you're on the wrong side of the stadium. Right off the highway, and the Lowe's next door lets you park for free, so yeah, not ideal for MLS 2.0

Columbus owner trying to force a move to Austin if he doesn't get his downtown stadium. I think this is MLS' first instance of an owner holding a team hostage if they don't get a stadium. I don't really think Columbus is an ideal city to have a team in, but would feel really bad for Crew fans, they have one of the better supporter's section in the league.

Good to see he got hold of a thesaurus

Doubt we hire someone until sometime next year. It's going to be Tab Ramos and hopefully some of our better youth talent for the next two international breaks

Chicago's group is pretty large, can get over 20 for bigger matches. Too bad they meet at the worst football pub in the city.

Sunil Gulati is the most culpable here, hiring Arena simply because he "knows CONCACAF," employing only nine full-time scouts to watch talent from a massive nation, among so many other systematic things wrong with USSF. Arena's post-match quotes about not making big changes are damning, too, there was no way he can be k.ept on.

There’s not much evidence for that though. Of all the players who have returned from Europe, Bradley’s the only one who might realistically be playing in a top European league. Guzan and Altidore might be bouncing around the Eredivisie or Scotland. Howard was already finished, Dempsey came back before for the last World Cup and his form really hasn’t dropped for the U.S. since then, and Bedoya never really stuck even when he was in France. In fact, I’d argue that having more MLS-based players has elevated the play of the rest of the teams in the confederation relative to the U.S. and that’s what’s made a big difference this cycle. I'm pretty high right now, so I can't fully flesh out my opinion here, but Bradley was the biggest culprit. He's been awful for a few years now, and he's all we have in midfield except for some decent younger guys. I can understand why him and Altidore went back, or Gonzalez not leaving for Europe a few years ago, but when you're not testing yourself at the top level you're not going to progress. Fortunately the younger generation are taking risks in Europe right now and it's working out for them. You're right about Central American countries getting better because of MLS, definitely.

Had kid of forgotten about this, but those guys completely regressing in their prime since going back MLS is a huge reason why we we're so bad.
