  1. Alexander Isak is the first player to lose each of his first 4 top-flight league starts for Liverpool since Percy Saul in October 1906.
  2. One of the best players in the history of the game doing that to Dara O'Shea Love a bit Ronaldo headloss.

    Eddie Howe

These last two away games have been terrible, no two ways about it, but in no uncertain terms should he be under any pressure, from the fans or the board, like at all, even if it was just for the simple fact that he won a trophy 6 months ago and the grace period that should allow him is longer than a single patchy run of form, in what is seeming like a transitional season in the terms of the way we play. He has more than enough enough credit in the bank, and he's allowed to make mistakes, all managers do from time to time, and even the mistakes today I can understand, Burn should have been subbed earlier, but he wasn't as Brentford had multiple set-piece opportunities and he clearly valued the physicality of Burn to help against that threat, I don't agree with it, but I can understand it. The only thing I don't understand is the subbing of Pope, but thats probably more on the medical team than Howe. Its also still really early on in the campaign and we have won 7 of the last 11 in all comps, which isn't bad, especially in the cup games, we just need a couple of wins and we'll be back around the top 8 as its still super tight. I also personally hate the reactionary nature of hounding a manager after a small period of poor play. If he was the right man 2 months ago, he's the right man now, and I think people put too much stock on having to do well all the time, and that progress must be linear, you're allowed a bad year, especially if you've been a proven success, so personally would rather have a lower/ middling season, and keep Howe around, then sack him for some other rando like Ireola. We could finish 13th this season, and I still think he'll deserve a crack next.

Its a funny old game, as prior to this Brentford match we'd actually won 7 in 10, its just the problem is 5 of them where cup games, and our away form is shit. Still, anyone seriously wanting Howe gone wants a word, that would be shortermism in the max
  5. Its been a bit of a nothing game in truth, but one that I feel we've managed relatively well for the most part. Their only threat appears to be set-pieces, and we've dealt with them to this point, even if not overly convincingly.
  6. It could be because i'm a little under the weather, or that we've progressed as a club, or its that the financial differences between the Premier League teams and everyone else is so vast (Like McMannamen kept saying on comms that this is a game we SHOULD win, that feels wrong against a very good Spanish outfit), but i'm not sure I like this new format, as that game today just felt very run of the mill, like I didn't have that spark in me that it was something special, which in my eyes all Champions League games should do, it was almost like there was no jeopardy on it, and as a result everything felt flat.

    Dan Burn

That may be the single best headed goal i've ever seen
  8. That was a comfy if unspectacular win. Don't think we played amazingly, but we didn't really need to. It was an important win though, we're only one win away from beating last seasons total needed to qualify, which is really handy at the halfway stage. Hall was a massive positive in that game, its going to be such an outlet having him back on that side. Barnes was tidy too. Tonali was Tonali, and the CB pairing continue to look good together. Infact the only player who had a poor game was Gordon, who genuinely looked like a sunday league player, I wouldn't be surprised if his pass percentage was at 0%, but i'm willing to put that down to his hip issue.
  9. So i've not been in the football section since Sunday, but based on this thread is the general consensus after one dogshit game that everyone is terrible now, and Howe is back to "picking his favorites" in some sort of weird dig to the man
  10. I hadn't actually paid any attention to Spurs this season until the game midweek, and assumed they where playing well given their position in the league, but they looks utter dogshit over these past too games.
  11. From .com: For some reason our game is the one one on boxing day, with the Premier League saying its due to fixture pile up from UEFA competitions. Which makes no sense given most clubs are off that week.

    Yoane Wissa

Craig Hope loves any sort of negativity doesn't he I'm paraphrasing, but Howe basically just said that he can't commit to any definitive time frame beyond him not being available this weekend, as he is having to build up his fitness, so its a bit wooly as to when he hits the markers that proof he's match fit. Thats basically it. Well that, and that Wissa has been great in the dressing room and seems a natural leader in the group.
  13. Head count, goals this season: Woltemade - 8 Isak - 1 (This does include a goal for both Stuttgart and Germany, but they are still part of this season)
  14. I can't explain the right word for it, but that performance yesterday was the most solid & professional game against a "big" side that I can remember us playing. They had the odd chance, as a team with the quality they have are likely to do, but for the most part, we dominated, held them at arms length, and had some great passages of play in an attacking sense. Woltemade really has changed the way we attack, and is making us become a more technical side, and more importantly a side that can get past a low block, its great to see the evolution, like that move we put together in the first half that Barnes put in the side netting, I don't think we produce a move like that last season Its looking more and more like the issues we had signing a striker in the summer where worth it, just because we ended up with Big Nick. For individual players, I thought Ramsdale was great, his ability with his feet was so far beyond what Pope can do, its almost comical. Pope is obviously on great form at the moment, but I still wouldn't be surprised if Ramsdale ends up number 1 by seasons end. Willock probably had his most effective game for us in about 2 years, lovely delivery Woltemade's goal too, but his overall play seems more refined and sharp than it has been. I thought Barnes' and Elanga both had good games too, even if they didn't get a goal or assist, I feel like Barnes crossing can be a bit underutilized, he has a great ping on him. Krafth just did Emil "6/5/10" Krafth things, and Schar just continued from where he left off before the concussion. Great performance, and great signs for the future.
  15. Huge win that, and more then deserved, on another day that ends up 6-2 and comfortable, we just couldn't finish out chances, but three points, and a confidence building win, West Ham next in the league too, win that, which we should and its comfortable.

For the past week and a bit I've purposely taken a break from all forms of media, I come back on here and the first thing I see is this fucking clip. Jesus wept, I feel like I want to go back into hibernation
  18. Hell of a result and performance that. Gordon and Bruno where unreal and ran the show.
  19. Draw this 0-0 an we'll be only the second side in top flight history to draw our first 4 matches of a season 0-0. The other being Notts County in the 30's, also known as the Magpies.
  20. Do we think he's serving some sort of handover period or notice at Forest? Its just odd that there has been nothing since it got announced, and given its an International break, you'd have thought the media team would have loved to have an interview with him to farm out to the masses at the very least.
