Really positive display that. Hopefully that goal breeds confidence in him thats been lacking so far this season.
-
So thats 3 goals and an assist so far for him this season. Not too bad. He is starting to look pretty decent too, I no longer flinch when he comes on.
-
He was instrumental to the first two goals, and put in several really threatening balls, and had their full-back on toast.

Proper commanding win. Its the sort of result and performance that teams with asperations to progress put in on the regular, like Man City, Bayern etc. Some real positives in attack, Elanga, Gordon, Barnes, Osula and Woltemade all got involved. Tonali bossed the show. Bruno was taking the piss at times, and the only real downside was that Joelinton put in another poor performance. Thaiw and Botman look made together, and defensively we where solid enough, and limited them to pot shots from range and set pieces. Hopefully its the springboard to really get our season underway.

His hold up play and distribution man...
-
Thought he was quality in that half, involved in both goals, and had their left back in all sorts of issues.
-
Really good half of football that, in which we showed our quality against a lower ranked team, its the sort of display that Man City, Liverpool et all have made in years past against similar level of opposition. We have played some lovely stuff in the middle of the park, and broken well. Elanga has been quality, involved in both goals, hopefully this is his awakening at the club. Woltemade's hold up play is genuinely elite, and him dropping deep with Elanga and Gordon running off him has caused them all sorts of issues.

Can someone tell me if i'm chatting shit, but isn't it really hard to re-do an ACL or Tendon injury? Be it in the knee or elbow etc? As they have to use a screw to pull the muscle back in place, and that, once its fully healed, can make that tendon stronger?

White shorts and socks is the correct combination in the Champions League.
-
Yeah, I think the point you're missing is that he wasn't a calamity, he still contributed quite substantially that season, and did so with a broken back.
-
I mean that's not true either, he wasn't even close to terrible. In the Champions League season, he had his limitations, but was for the most part solid, if unspectacular.

Eh, Burn and Schar at CB is more than fine, they've provided 3 clean sheets this season already, and have generally been quality for a year and a half now, plus we do need to rotate, and Burn at LB has happened once in 2 years
-
Turn on the manager who has provided us two Champions League campaigns in three years, and won our first domestic trophy in 70 years just 6 months ago after... checks notes.... a slightly poor start to the season? Have a word
-
Basically brings him back after the November International break. Not great, not horrendous. Given the scares with the ACL rupture, it feels like good news.
-
Burn was one of if not our player of the season last year, and has been absolutely unreal for the majority of his time here, especially at CB. You can't be giving that as example of Howe "Shoehorning" someone in like.
