Honestly, it really annoyed me in the run up to this game, how all of a sudden due to one loss in the league, and a loss in the Champions League, pundits and the like where saying we where in crisis, and the club is in turmoil. With people like Duncan Alexander saying utter bollocks like "It feels like we're in wheels coming off territory". This guy just taught all of them a lesson today.

Quality, confident and assured win against a team that was apparently resurgent. Miley, Bruno, Miggy and Gordon the pick of the players. Lascelles, even though his passing was utterly shocking and put us in some hot bother at times, was solid defensively imo. Chelsea though where really poor in that second half, they where so petulant and ill disciplined, making so many unforced errors. Can tell they have a really young squad full of individuals who believe their own hype.

Not really, Joelinton hasn't been great at times this season, but last season and the back end of 21/22 he was genuinely quality and very deserving of that call up.

And the tenacity from Gordon to win the ball back and recycle it.

Decent and entertaining half, should still be ahead really. If we can keep up the pace, I can see us winning this.

Personally would say they are both at a similar level from what i've seen, Ramsdale is better with feet mind, Pope better at commanding his box, the thing Ramsdale has in his favor is that he's only 25 so has a lot of time to improve, compared to Pope's 31. I don't think the amount Ramsdale would cost would be worth the punt given there is a very negligible difference between the two, and other area's that are more important, Pope will be more then fine for another season or two until we want an Alisson level keeper, which Ramsdale is not.
