  1. His crosses are just depressing to watch tbh. He does them early, and it's often a high ball without curl or pace at all that's easy for any keeper to take. It often lands nearer to the edge of the area than in the danger zones too. As for his attacking intent, just hound him and it will force him into his second favorite pass: the pass back to Taylor/Williamson/whoever our RCB is. And don't get me started on his favorite pass - the hoof.

    Joey Barton

    None of them Bosmans either.
  3. Aye, but those games with Tiote are just dwindling atm. And those stats aren't helped by the fact that our hidings last season were partly due to losing Tiote to injury/ACoN.

    Joey Barton

Joey. Feel sorry for how he's fallen since the end of his last season with us though. He fell from the top of his game not because of his age, but because of his attitude.
  5. This. Unspectacular but not the worst RB in the world.
  6. Why no Chelsea, ManU and ManC if it's "Battle for 1st"?
  7. Can we just fast forward to the end of the window to see who we get?
  8. Kumusta, where in Manilla do you live? Got a place in Makati, and wondering where you catch the games. Star sports is f***ing useless so whenever I'm there I always miss our matches. Haha, I did see someone wearing a banana Toon kit in a Makati mall a few months back. Wonder if that was you. I live in Pasig, and yes, Star Sports is pretty useless. Although, you can try Balls (local channel) as I've heard they would be venturing into the Europa League starting this season. I was there around February but I don't have that yellow kit so it couldn't have been me . Yeah I've seen Balls (could have phrased that better) but didn't realise they had actual football on it, just assumed it was all the crappy Azkal matches. Yeah, they don't appeal much as they're a local channel, but they actually show Prem & La Liga matches (with Filipino commentary, but delayed and not much better than Star Sports) and Champions League/Europa League (with English commentators).

    Douglas

Pretty much an insult to Taylor hoying Douglas in ahead of him without kicking a ball in this league. I couldn't care less, if he's better than Taylor play it improves us as a team. If he isn't we have a more than capable squad player. I agree, but that has fuk all to do with what im saying. I just don't see why a player is deemed better than what we've got because he has a foreign name. It's not being better, the overhyped reputation of English players is just too spread out now and it seems that not many like it. So even a foreign name is a bonus. But then again, Douglas is an expectant Dutch international.
  11. imagine the look of Liverpool fans if he come back here and starts banging in goals again Would love to get him for this purpose.
  12. Try coming to Manila. All we have is a national team of half-bloods who play once every two months. The only ground in the city is a 20k seater, and it only gets up to 8k unless it's a World Cup qualifier. Our main chant is a mix of hysteric screaming and We Let the f***ing Dogs out. At least you have a club. We don't. Kumusta, where in Manilla do you live? Got a place in Makati, and wondering where you catch the games. Douglas

The difference in class is at least clear, even for them. Taylor is widely accepted to be a starter and it will be very gutting for him to be dropped, imo.

    Douglas

Pretty much an insult to Taylor hoying Douglas in ahead of him without kicking a ball in this league. Find it more of an insult that he worked so hard to come back from injury only to be dropped when we're on the best of times we've been in years.

  16. Is that when Heskey missed a sitter from 2 yards out? Aye, was a clanger that.
  17. The Villa game in the weekend will have eerily similar circumstances to the same fixture against Villa a few years ago, but it's us who are trying to qualify for the group stages this time, while they are seemingly set to be a mid-table side.

    Douglas

Sorry, forgot to put Tayls there, my bad. Oh, and I meant Tayls should be dropped if he's better than Tayls and/or is equally as good as or better than Colo. Made that more confusing that I should have, I feel. Let's put it this way. I would accept to drop Tayls if this was the order of ability: 1. Douglas 2. Colo 3. Taylor 1. Colo = Douglas 2. Taylor 1. Colo 2. Douglas 3. Taylor But if it's 1. Colo 2. Taylor = Douglas or worse, I wouldn't drop him.

    Joey Barton

I'd like to see him be away from England for once tbh.
  20. Mother of god those goalfests.... Be class if it happened.

    Douglas

I would too, but it's more of the fact that he's a local lad and a player I have a soft spot for rather than his football ability. He could prove to be worse ability-wise than Douglas. Still, he'd be the only Englishman left if we plan to get a new RB as well, let alone be the only Geordie. Also, I'd naturally be in favor of giving him a chance to show what he can do after injury hit him like always last year. I'd only drop him if Douglas shows signs of having ability better than Taylor or equal/better than Colo tbh. EDIT: About the right back myths, I'd keep him as far as possible from RB imo. Even if he's good defensively, he's just never built up to be a natural RB. He won't have the pace and fullback attacking ability even if he tries. (See Everton home game 2 seasons ago when he had to go RWB due to our injuries)
