  1. Was just about to post that. Love how they managed to nab about 5 shots of that.
  2. I'm not an expert in European rules, but if Debuchy plays, will he be cup-tied for Europe? I believe he won't be. Did a bit of research, at the moment he's not but if they win, he will be? Think I misread something here, help. He's injured anyway I think. Ah, great.
  3. I'm more concerned about Tiote's persistent injuries. This.
  4. One of few LFC players I can sympathize with really.
  5. http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Football/Pix/pictures/2009/12/22/1261489760881/Nolberto-Solano-001.jpg There's a difference between a legend and a c***. I'd have him back on the grounds of ability though.

  8. We can't, we have wasted our time pretending to try and sign Carroll. Actually think this is the cause. We could have pushed through with Debuchy if we had long decided against the Carroll bid. In the end, we won't get any, which is just utter s***.
  9. This is why if our tactic is to keep our cards close to our chest like with Cisse, I think we're still not done with the transfers. People say this close to deadline day and nothing ever happens. Give up on it now, and it won't feel so bad on friday. I've already readied myself to accept it if we don't clinch any signings, but it's just nice to have a bit more positive thinking. It's more of hope, not expectation. It must be said though that the Cisse thing was done at the start of a window, not a down-to-the-wire thing like this.

  11. Probably another point to consider is that we're unsettled on our formation. Spurs do not really fear much with just three strikers, for example, as they are settled on a one-striker formation. As much as I do not like it, Pards is still using the 4-4-2 often. People seem to be assuming that we'd go 4-3-3 for certain with the options they are suggesting, that we could play with only one up top.
  12. Well we struggled without him for sure So what happens if Ba and Cisse are away in the ACON or both become injured. Shola and Sammy are the only options and they are both injury specialists as well. And unless AC49 explodes like Rooney he's too raw to be put in the mix either. As said, the fact that we have two of the best strikers and the league, as well as one of the best prospects in the country covers up the depth problems we have.
  13. Best gave me a sense of security last season that we could rely on someone who is hardworking and professional enough other than Shola if we lose our best forwards. Putting all the weight on Shola just does not inspire confidence, while Campbell is too young imo to be put weight on. Best didnt play last season after we got Cisse. He played because we only had Ba. People keep comparing the side that started the season as if Cisse was a part of it. He wasnt, he has more or less replaced Best. The extra striker we have lost is Lovenkrands. He's not the type of player you expect to play every week. He's the type of player that would give you security if things went wrong injury-wise. A good squad player.
  14. You can't have it all your own way if you try to run a football club the right way.
  15. Funny but pretty much makes sense if you look at it.

  17. We don't need to strengthen our striking department in quality. We just need depth. As I said before, the defence needs quality, the attack needs quantity.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

At least his excellent form will be for our profit only.
  19. One striker would calm everybody down imo. I think we're still too light, unless you consider Shola ready to have an injury-free season, or Campbell ready to make the step up. The fact that we have probably two of the best strikers in the league completely covers up that we have only Shola and Campbell in the wings. The difference in class/experience (for AC) there is staggering.
  20. This. To say they are actually fully fit is even too kind. Ridiculous.
  21. Really wish we made up our mind when we went for Debuchy. We seemed uncertain if we wanted to spend an extra mil on him, with the striker in mind. In the end, we may end up signing neither, which just exposes our weaknesses in both areas more.
  22. Well done you giggsed yourself in the space of one post. A new low.
  23. Glad to see quality is still in the scouts' minds.
