I would too, but it's more of the fact that he's a local lad and a player I have a soft spot for rather than his football ability. He could prove to be worse ability-wise than Douglas. Still, he'd be the only Englishman left if we plan to get a new RB as well, let alone be the only Geordie. Also, I'd naturally be in favor of giving him a chance to show what he can do after injury hit him like always last year. I'd only drop him if Douglas shows signs of having ability better than Taylor or equal/better than Colo tbh. EDIT: About the right back myths, I'd keep him as far as possible from RB imo. Even if he's good defensively, he's just never built up to be a natural RB. He won't have the pace and fullback attacking ability even if he tries. (See Everton home game 2 seasons ago when he had to go RWB due to our injuries)

He'll never make the move if he keeps dropping these hints.

Lawro. Someone show him our City home game last year. Or pretty much all City "come from behind" fixtures. They always use this "Toure pushed forward" tactic. Then again, I doubt he'll have any room left in that peanut to put this in.

Seriously, they're so bad. People joke about them being a bunch of cloggers but it's not a joke, they actually are. Total lack of footballing ability. Aye, also remember when we were about to grab Anita that the Dutch fans were moaning about how our style is like Stoke's. Sad how they've become the "typical English side" image abroad.

Ask that question to Liverpool.

Starting to gear towards becoming an "academy club" rather than one who wins things, imo. Still a great club, but quite simply not having the same winning mentality if their best players just leave them after growing up with them.

"Cathorla"

Based on what? Amalfitano and Lovenkrands comparison ffs.

Aye, completely forgot that he had a good rate 2 seasons ago. Though when he takes, I keep worrying that it may turn out to be one of those low, unlofted and poorly-struck crosses that he's famous for.

It's gonna be a tense finish as always.

The Tiote thing may drag on to be like Carroll's if we get an irresistible offer but have to ponder whether it's worth the gamble to leave our squad lightweight and gutted till the next transfer window.

Colo is the last non-Geordie lad I would see leaving tbh.

Stat: we only scored once from a corner last season and it was Cabaye's. The short corners with HBA seems to work better imo. Near post Ba header against Wolves? in any case HBA hasn't taken many corners but most of them seem to hit the 6 yard box so i'd like to see him take more corners. Not a fan of Hatem's non-short corners so far. They seem too flat and low for my liking. Raylor seems most capable of lofting it, but I think his corners have too much bend that it curls into the keeper's arms. And if we do not like Cabaye's corners too much, the best compromise seems to be the short corner. (I think we got the pen off one v Spurs last week. )

My thoughts exactly. Hope we don't sell to them, and I think I'd try to hold out for more. Feel that they are there to be shot at, while Spurs and Liverpool could be as well if they don't gel with their new managers.
