Well Ashley cant withdraw his bid as he never made one. PIF who did make a bid have very publicly withdrawn theirs's.

Bale is being paid a rumored 600k a week at Madrid and he appears more interested in being paid that amount to not play football than the 300k a week he might get in the premier league .

He's not pushing to get out of Madrid at all, he's just blaming them for him still being there. If he would accept a lower wage somewhere else Madrid would let him go in a flash but he doesn't want to.

My personal opinion is that PIF are a lot more to blame than the PL for the takeover failing to happen. The Saudi's appear to have been typically stubborn, condescending and unhelpful throughout the process. I think Slater's article in the athletic is probably an accurate summary of what happened, because of the open stealing of IP neither PIF or SA were ever going to pass the O&D test. The fact that they wouldn't acknowledge any wrong just made it easier not to say yes.
