  1. Janmaat is much happier playing as a wingback then the right back he's going to be playing for us.
  2. The 352 suits some players but others especially the three defenders often seem to struggle. Shaw looks good as a wingback so does Young and I'm sure it would suit Valencia as well. However you need to build from the back and that requires a goalkeeper and a back three who are comfortable on the ball and MU looked nervous when ever they were pressurised. We would have the same problem we have two natural wing backs in Janmaat and Haidara, but a back three who are not comfortable on the ball and a goalkeeper who is a shocking footballer.
  3. MU don't look very good trying to play with 3 at the back, then again with Jones, Smalling and Evans it's hardly surprising.
  4. Tell him we miss him (Bimpy and not Pardew) and get back here pronto.

The kind of attitude that you are referring to (I think) doesn't exist anymore. I don't think any of the players particularly want to be here, if they could play for a better club with realistic expectations of winning something and earn more money at the same time they would all be gone. Even players who are actually originally supporters of their clubs, jump ship when the opportunity arises, Rooney, Carroll (yes I know he was pushed out the window) being classic examples. Most decent players will be transferred within a season or two to the first top club that winks at them, see Cabaye, Debuchy and going back in time Gascoigne and Waddle. There is no point in getting attached to any of our current players whether they be any good or not, they are all in transit through the great St. James Park lounge on their way if they get the opportunity to something they consider to be better.
  6. Ever since HBA turned down the contract extension he was offered (allegedly) at a lower salary (allegedly again) the club have been trying to get rid of him by any means possible.
  7. I'll no doubt watch most of the matches that are on TV, which is plenty in the States/ Caribbean. I spent the latter half of last season hoping we would lose and by the biggest score the better, I'll see after City's first goal whether I still feel the same way. If we line up all negative and play Pardews normal defensive percentage football, I'm sure that will still be the case.
  8. Well obviously I think we all realise that at this point. Still doesn't stop the fact that we desperately need one even if it probably won't happen. I don't think we desperately need one. The defence has shown it can be pretty solid for prolonged periods of time. If the front 6 play well the defence tends to be decent. I really don't get this. Defensively we have been abject for the last two seasons and we have just lost our best defender and Pardew would like to get rid of the only other one with real potential. Our new RB will probably be the best defender we have and he's completely unproven in the Premier League. So a crap defense and less goals in the squad than last season. What could possibly go wrong?
  9. What is happening to Southampton is disgusting. The audacity to challenge near the top of the table, beat some of the teams above them, well we can't be having that can we. So they get stripped bare by the richer clubs. This is no longer a sporting competition on any level playing field, and won't be until some kind of wage cap or something similar is introduced, so that the best team wins, with the best players and the best manager, not just the latest rich kid bastards on the block. Football and especially the Premier League is no fun at all.

Our back three would be worse than shite, apart from that it's a good idea.

  13. It's extremely badly written, disjointed and vaguely unreadable.
  14. Please don't post this twitter shit on here, we know that there is a small, stupid attention seeking minority out there, don't give them a platform to illustrate their ignorance.
  15. Did anybody who posts on here actually go? Apparently we had nearly a thousand supporters. Maybe the consensus on board here, has become completely cut off and irrelevant to the feelings of the masses who support us home and away. This would explain why we all hate Pardew and what the club has become and yet 50,000 plus are going to turn out for the Man City game and support us as if nothings wrong. If so we are royally fucked, worse that any of us can probably imagine.
  16. Has anbody seen the distance covered stat for the players in the final, it would be interesting to see how Messi compares
  17. Messi been regularly sick on the pitch during matches tells you something up.
  18. One of the comments; pmjji 14 juil. à 1:20 Eh ben voilà tu l'as faite ta bêtise...dans un an à Arsenal pour rattraper le coup? " So now you've really fucked it up, never mind in a years time at Arsenal to make amends"
  20. L'Equipe are reporting 10m Euros including all bonuses, sounds more like it.
  21. A very strange time to announce a confirmed transfer, mind you there is nothing normal about NUFC
  22. Barcelona dominate possession in every game they play, and so Messi is constantly involved. Argentina had 36% in the final.
  23. It would be interesting to see the distance covered stats, everybody around 10k, except the two goalkeepers and Messi about 200 yards.
  24. Winning the WC on penalties just shouldn't count. Play until somebody scores, a survival of the fittest, or just declare no winner.
  25. Where have the great skilful Brazilian players gone? The midfield options of Gustavo, Paulinho, Ramires, Hernanes, that's rank awful. Were Oscar and Willian skilful creative players before Mourinho got his hands on them and turned them into work horses? European leagues especially the Premiership for young Brazilian players, will continue to have a hugely detrimental affect on their development, they end up being clones of every other hard working athlete running around for 90 minutes. Brazil should go back to developing and picking footballers, not athletes and find another way to compete against the likes of Germany and Holland. They don't need to reinvent football, but they do need to find a better more intelligent approach to compete again as a global footballing power. If they can find more Neymar's without the diving, and less physical Tiote clones, maybe we can all get entertained at the same time as they find a way to win again.
