Newcastle United - Am I happy only when it rains?
LFEE replied to South-Cheshire-Toon's topic in Football
Higher prices have played a price I’d say not the sanitisation. That and we are bombarded 24/7 by opinions and what people should expect with most of it negative instead of positive which transfers from radio stations and tv studios to the terraces. That and you’ve got people riling people up on social media. -
Newcastle United - Am I happy only when it rains?

I personally think its all down to individual characteristics and they’d have the same reactions about other things in life. I think what helps me be so balanced throughout my 40+ years going is I’m a football fan above being a NUFC fan which allows me to see things with more perspective rather than through B&W tinted glasses. Even when I was very young and disappointment/hurt would stay with me longer than it does today it never prevented me from giving opposing players, coaching staff and fans credit where it’s due. I’d like to think I’m like this with most of life’s trials and tribulations. What you got to remember (as Bobby Robson said at least once I recall) that as a team you can plan on doing xyz but there is another manager and eleven or more players trying to stop you doing xyz for them to stop you and beat you. You’ll rarely get two sets of supporters happy after every game but it can help if you can see things from both sides. One player having a bad game might be up against someone having a great game. -

I agree with this. Remember arguing this at the time. Despite some of the results. Many that felt they’d chuck wins & draws away conceding late I felt the players were really playing for him at Bournemouth as they are at Wolves. Nothing much at all wrong with his Bournemouth stint IMO.

I don’t think he’s two footed and still stand by that. Not in the sense of he doesn’t trust his weaker foot. To evidence what I mean when Schar slides him through he should use his left but steps around to use his right. Same as he did against Villa. Small sample size I appreciate but as his minutes increase let’s see who is right. My money is on his preference to turn his body shape and use his right. An example of a two footed player to me is Beardsley. You can’t tell which was his strongest foot and looked natural using both.

That and just because that’s the deal for Fulham doesn’t mean that would be the deal for us.

Those who are adamant Bruno is being sold this summer I’d just like to ask to who and for how much?

See we earned more domestic TV money than LFC & THFC last season… https://x.com/swissramble/status/1753402710890594467?s=46&t=DDNXUN2PoOBhgKmoF77zNw

Strasbourg are going to have some team next season…

They have started to have teeth because the PL are trying to show they don’t need to be independently regulated as that’s the last thing they want.

It depends how you judge these things. Personally the fact Woodgate was never fit and caused too much disruption in a position of the team that relies more than any a partnership always means he loses my vote as great a defender he was when fit. Does anyone know his biggest run of 90mins for us? My recollection (hazy these days admittedly) of him was turning up at 3pm Saturday and finding out he wasn’t playing and even when he did start I seem to recall him being subbed a few times.

Maybe the injection needs to be limited. So they can’t inject anymore than the current highest in the league. Therefore no fast track cheating but also no restriction of trade within the current members of the EPL.

In general I’m all for less player trading and bringing youth through. It’s been argued that FFP makes clubs sell off their youth products which I get initially however if these youth products are good then go with them and turn them into great players rather than selling them to overpay for someone else’s star players and rinse n repeat. Less money going out the game via agents is never a bad thing either.

Ultimately though it might drive prices down which would be a good thing if it does. Will be interesting to see how the summer and next winter windows play out. I agree in it’s current form it needs to be looked at but no need to throw the baby out with the bath water. Id like to see clubs massively in debt restricted in their trading rather than based on just revenue streams as ultimately its solvency that the fans want protecting for their clubs if a an owner decides to pull out.

I’d imagine he’d want to be playing every game these next few months to secure his Euro spot. Doubt he’d risk a move.

1st day of window. Was announced happening in December.

At least £6m as we know we could afford KP loan fee but didn’t think it was worth the long term P&S hit.
-
Ekitike on loan in final 24hrs of the window would be kinda interesting.

Yep. That and he was up against a very good GK for one on ones.
