  1. See (and I’m not arguing as the question was delivered so quietly) I thought the additional apologetic No was because he’d answered a fairly reasonable question quite bluntly and realised it so he kind of repeated it in a softer tone so not to look a knob.

Yes. A win would’ve IMO spurred us on and delivered a gut punch to Man Utd. Unfortunately roles were reversed.
  3. I’d understand a compromise of HT and FT. It’s scary how messaging etc is crippled in town near the ground even an hour before the game. Always make post match plans way in advance of KO nowadays ?
  4. Weirdly (I watched the full match) Wood looked half a yard quicker yesterday ?
  5. Well… you heard my thoughts when NUST/TF Charlotte chirped up about it ?
  6. Just be thankful you can’t get a phone data signal in most parts of the ground as it be even worse. Peoples attention spans these days are shot ?
  7. I’ll take your word for it as interview audio very low when I heard it. I thought he’d been asked if anything in the rumours.
  8. Lampard said no when asked yesterday FWIW.

Yes we had a big lead but nearly half a season to go. Like I said with Arsenal winning today there’s a long way to go still. As for 95-96 it’s a funny one as we signed Tino and in many ways he gave us another dimension and solved a predictability issue of using two wingers yet possibly created as many problems he solved as that shunted Beardsley out of position. I agree regarding the Clark comment as I was a big fan of his (basically a faster thinking Longstaff for want of a better description. Who never stood still and clean precise passing his main assets) yet Batty come in and was arguably MOTM for a lot of the remaining games and actually surprised me how good he was. I still go back to Gillespie getting taken out at Man Utd away (iirc) the biggest reason. That and we only had one way of playing and had a massive naivety due to the inexperience of the majority of the team. You could tell Beardsley & Batty we’re the only ones in the team who had been there and done it before.
  10. Not ideal that the window closes the night of our 2nd leg (am I right?). I’m sure EH would prefer to avoid any distractions on the day. Might be wise the club aims for any arrivals between the two games if possible to give everyone a lift going into the biggest game of the season so far.
  11. I thought he looked uncomfortable near the end and was clearly testing his ankle movement at times. Not long after he under played a pass wide. Definitely wasn’t fully fit.
  12. Only a small part of it. Match going fans not as radge as they should be the main one ?
  13. Pepe on loan to Nice it seems. 6 goals in 16. Decent. Wonder where is career will go next season.
  14. Agree. Can’t say I’ve seen him at all pre Man Utd. What am I missing as I’ve seen nothing in him other than a couple of albeit lovely but identical goals from distance? £80m+ was the fee wasn’t it? Which reminds me how is Pepe doing this season?
  15. Long way to go. Long long way to go…
  16. A surprise big money offer. Howe said as much himself it was a financial decision as the deal was a very good one for the club. Even the timing probably came 10 days early you’d think as if anyone was going to put a high bid in for him it would be a desperate final hour deal. We’ve 10 days to replace him so time on our side at least.
  17. Impressive from Arsenal. Man Utd no mugs. We’ll be finishing below both them and Man City as it stands with our squad. Just got to hopefully keep ahead of Spurs Brighton and Liverpool and possibly Chelsea with a late run.
  18. Need a couple of drums and some foghorns etc and go all Spain 82 or France 84 ?
  19. Yep. I think if the figures are to be believed they’ve jumped at the chance to get the deal done.
  20. Best goal of the three. Fair play to Saka. Didn’t think he had that in his locker. Suspect De Gea didn’t either ?
  21. Man City by some distance the best atmosphere this season. Followed by Chelsea. Forest next. Leicester in the cup decent but like Villa not until the goals started. In a slight defence we’ve had a lot of low scoring games at home this season despite playing well.

    Nick Pope

Andy O’Brien > Bramble but neither very good ? Bramble’s high’s we’re much higher than O’Brien’s but my god his lows… At least one per game. Woodgate helped massively but he was disaster waiting to happen. O’Brien never had a 9-10/10 game and possibly struggled even to hit a 8/10 but he rarely dropped from 6.5-7.5/10.

Our wide front three do tend to stay very wide. Maybe something to work on and mix it up a bit. Also I’d like our wingers to swap sides occasionally. Today a classic example of having the pace either side to get beyond full backs but both crossing with their weaker foot.
