  1. That’s the “house” Tonali is shown around when he signed.

For those who judge atmospheres via TV this game was a prime example when Sky had Mics all on and weren’t muffling the sound to remove swearing etc. Was so loud the sound distorted at times… https://x.com/nufc/status/1719279024550113633?s=46&t=DDNXUN2PoOBhgKmoF77zNw
  3. I agree with this but also agree our game management has been far more naive this season compared to last. As a football fan I’m happy the yellow cards etc are having an effect in most the games with regards to this for all the teams. Fake head injuries are still annoying but seems the least risk free way to time waste.

It also helped it was a beautiful summers day and we’d just secured 4th place and absolutely nothing at stake the whole game after what had been a memorable season.

And yet I was sat in the Gallowgate and hardly heard them. Just our lot backing the team vocally. Maybe not so much singing but vocal support which is more important to the team. This highlights you can get a completely different take on each individual game depending on where you are sat/stood in SJP.

Let’s have a bit of honesty here. People all of a sudden aren’t taking ill. So let’s nip that narrative in the bud. Thats being pedalled to go against ID checks. Its either people buying for points not going or what seems like an increased hospitality/competition winning element who will on the day not fancy it and not even think about passing the tickets on elsewhere which is probably the bigger of the two problems but I have nothing to back that up with. Just basing it on mindsets. Also there is an away element who clump together and don’t use their own seats so some may quite often look unused but they are for people who are standing 2:1 elsewhere. The away end looked full on TV with no obvious gaps.

Like I say I’m only playing devils advocate but that area was the loudest part of the ground before the safe standing. Personally I do think it should be in all four corners with Leazes east being next as there seemed a bit of an atmosphere growing there and once it’s going and you are allowed to stand without the need to worry about others views you are likely to remain stood. I always argue that whenever I have a rare visit to a church you are always asked to stand before singing ??‍♂️
  8. This. The win would be a massive lift pre Arsenal also.
  9. The way Bruno was playing today it seemed in his mind he’s either playing a big part Wednesday or he just didn’t want to risk that 5th yellow.

I know it’s not an ideal away end for atmosphere and weather not great but away end seemed quiet on TV.
  11. Shame Tonali had to sit this one out mind. Would’ve suited him to the ground (tempo and lack of Wolves press).
  12. Good result away from home in tiring conditions. Felt like the last two games I’ve been watching Blade Runner ?️
  13. Not a pen then reminded myself of Slobz first day of season when all the pundits and experts said it was??‍♂️

Although I’m all for as much safe standing as possible playing devils advocate you could argue it’s made no difference to Chelsea and Liverpool.
  15. Arsenal v Sheffield Utd in kit clash shocker ?
  16. Just received an email from the club confirming my row & seat in the standing section.

I don’t think these are sold in the ballot (Phase 1). They are sold phase 2 at resell stage when away club has returned their unsold tickets and you can choose your seat I believe. I’m not 100% sure. On a different topic and not solely aimed at yourself but it’s interesting you feel like your son is entitled to a view of the game. When I went for the first game (2 days shy of 40 years ago) also with my dad it was hard to see that much of the game. Even as I progressed to different parts of the ground over the years it was always a struggle to see the action. Some games after an attack or a goal I’d be totally separated from my dad and would take several minutes before being reunited with him. This to me is where the two worlds collide. On one side there are people wanting to watch the match safely whilst others complain about the atmosphere disappearing and hankering for sort of Boca Juniors match going experience. Hopefully over time a happy medium can be found once things like demand and capacity of future expansion/ground become clearer. We’ve just got to remember Rome wasn’t built in a day…

Yeah people can come up with all sorts of possible solutions but none of them will rid the ground of young kids (many wearing headphones for sensory reasons etc) and the ever growing groups of female attendees or whittle out the OAPs or the mobile phone generation playing games etc or the food & drink families or young couples. Rightly so as we try and be a more inclusive and progressive sport. However it’s always going to come at a cost to the atmosphere more often than not. The crowd makeup must be 60% if not more of those I’ve mentioned. The easy passive buy in also during the Ashley years is coming back to bite also. The great atmospheres will always be the exception not the norm going forward. Maybe a new stadium or reallocation of seats with detailed consultation on the type of fan you are so bigger vocal sections can be created is the last throw of the dice and hope their support is infectious to the rest of the ground but likely not. And I appreciate I’ve made some simplistic generalisations in the groups but by and large it is the issue and it’s not solely affecting football. Gigs these days are a far cry from what they used to be due to those that go and where they position themselves with their entitled behaviour or obsession with mobile technology and not living the moment.
  20. Doesn’t even have a seat number on closer inspection. Just says Standing Area and the block number so guessing it’s first come first served for best spot within the block.
  21. They aren’t doing that abroad. Just domestic aways. In Milan it was just a brief glance of passport without even bothering to look at name handwritten on ticket.
  22. Dortmund tickets have arrived. No names or obvious ID references on them.
  23. Am I wrong in thinking his ban ends ready for first game next season? Seems overly officious if he can’t start next season a fresh.
