Was in a WhatsApp group of over 20 people applying for various games and no one got any. A friend of one them got a final ticket for £1k and a final 16 for a similar amount ? I read on Twitter someone had applied for approx £20k of tickets and got none. 23 million applications and around 2.3m for the final alone apparently.

Imagine if ALL 135k members wanted a free ticket… ?

There’s also one I’ve seen that was taken from the Gallowgate around lower/mid tier that showed Joelinton did nothing other than basically rest his arms on Gabriel.

Had this discussion before (not saying with yourself). The NUST asked if the club would they reinstate the loyalty points and were told bluntly no. Hopefully now the club has hired people for these roles and they’ve had a few months to get their feet under the table we will start seeing improved engagement in preparation for 24/25 season.

Ironically though the enforcement of the T&Cs this season should see all your friends getting away tickets this season when previously they wouldn’t have due to the T&Cs not being enforced. Even then they aren’t massively. They are probably targeting those they are slightly suspicious of misusing.

And out of the two you’d be best off getting rid of digital.

Give people the option. Most would pay the extra £1 per ticket for physical. Technically we already do with the booking fee on away tickets.

That’s the ultimate dilemma it seems. People don’t want to be subjected to touting but also want the freedom to transfer. It’s finding the sweet spot that reduces touting as much as possible and also gives a bit of freedom and goodwill. Hence why I keep going back to physical tickets ? If you are going to have touts then have them from the local area. They will become known and therefore won’t overstep the mark. Anything allowing faceless transactions will only encourage higher asking prices and fake tickets.

Maybe. I think someone on here mentioned the club has an app in progress. Can other people not just share login details of these apps? Also there’s always going to be 10% that don’t/won’t want digital tickets so a method needs to be found for them also.

Not sure why pointless. It seems to solve 90% of the problem? Only 100% method is full on ID checks to match up with purchaser and remove any transfer options. Would you prefer that? Paper gives people a little flexibility and more importantly most likely the right people the flexibility who would likely pass on more honestly.

The term was from when the German were efficient and the Spanish probably the most flakiest of national teams to be fair… Going back to the 1960’s.

The problem is common sense is subjective and is pushed in one direction then the other so in the end you’ve a massive spectrum of possible judgments for any decision. It’s safest to have one and just stick with it.

See now I never understood how anyone could think it would. Football refereeing decisions etc are so subjective. All those years of managers post match crying for technology because they thought referees needed help to get to the right decision was always about them really thinking they’d get the decision they wanted. Same with fans ringing into radio stations moaning. Was never going to change either scenario and has been proven it won’t. Goal line technology and offside technology (if really wanted) set to daylight is all the game needs and just accept the rest. Can’t be underlined how great it was to celebrate a goal at Old Trafford the other week knowing each one stood instantly.

Worrying when you actually see what VAR were checking for. Madness they needed that long to check for two handballs front and back.

Just came in to post that very same thing. There was a moment near the end where we had lost the ball and he looked very uncomfortable slowly trotting back with the attack leaving him in his wake. Longstaff seemed to recover better but at the time he looked distraught.

Thought they looked good preseason and most games this season. Just lacked a killer touch in many games. This one no different.

I guess the argument would be then that those propping it up financially now want a go at propping it up vocally. Will be wise to delay judgment on things until end of the season with regards to the vocal atmospheres Home & Away. Went to Fulham, Spurs, Brentford, Villa, Chelsea and another that escapes me away last season. Felt Fulham was flat for spells then canny but then the game was flat also as jeopardy removed early in the game. Spurs not great either but was a nervy 90mins and weather awful with no cover. Brentford was canny but limited allocation. Villa was terrible but we hardly touched the ball. Chelsea was great but no jeopardy in the game. 1 Loss. 1 Draw. 3 Wins. So far I feel home games are slightly better than last season’s corresponding fixtures but they’ve all been pretty good games were the crowd has felt it’s needed to play it’s part Palace aside. 1 very late loss and 6 wins. Haven’t touched on the UCL games obviously. Honestly think far too much is being made of the ticketing but still early days.

Because the tool’s apology won’t garner as much or any if at all coverage compared to the damage he caused with a blank two weeks to fill before the next game. Damage if only minor already done. Does that help?
