  1. Wood v Weghorst shoot out in the final. Let’s settle this forum argument once and for all ?
  2. I’m guessing they might not be allowed to as it would suggest like your follow up comment has that they could vote their mates on rather than what they have by the looks of it stayed impartial. They claimed to offer a few suggestions to this person as they would’ve appreciated another person to help with the workload.
  3. Again another thing I highlighted last night to them was the messaging of what they really are and what they do as I pointed out although they may think it’s obvious other people don’t. They are basically like a trade union. Hence the strength in numbers important. They will court opinion of its members via surveys based on requests etc made to them via its members. At that stage if there is a strong enough response on particular issues they will then take them to the club and try and implement whatever. Ultimately like a trade union it only looks effective if you have a government (or club in this case) that is prepared to listen and engage and ultimately implement the changes requested and likewise on the flip side the chance of that happening is greater if the Union (NUST) can give evidence of strength of feeling on whatever the topic is. Where I think they confused people (and I nearly brought it up but it can wait until next meeting as I didn’t want to prolong the night for ever as it ended up nearly 2hrs long (7-9pm) and they had to have their board meeting straight afterwards.) in my opinion was the whole idea of the Pledge scheme as that to me clearly came from within the board itself rather than a large demand from its members. This is also where I feel rightly people think there are decisions made for themselves rather than their members. You’ve got to have balance with some things so that is where the naysayers go too far criticising small things like selling Jigsaws or whatever because ultimately to survive the NUST needs funds in the bank. If only for their annual audit fee (£1400 which I thought was slightly on the high side as I’m sure my Freeman’s companies books only cost around £1000 so maybe a mute point). In reality they aren’t get any more income from the likes of me who took the £10 lifetime membership offer so that would leave any future income solely from £1 per annum members. So as someone has just asked about how many people care about the NUST it will be interesting in a year how the books look as that should give some indication along with the longevity of the NUST itself.
  4. I basically told them that when I found out on the night about the 4th nominee who didn’t get anyone to propose him (Needed only two people to vote for him). Their version of events was he was advised to do a couple of things to garner the two votes (assuming put it out in the SM sphere) but he never bothered. Seemed all a bit strange and very under publicised. Which reminds me for anyone on here who’ve hinted they wouldn’t of got on the board without a massive social media presence etc that clearly wouldn’t of been the case. You just needed two members to propose you on this occasion and that would’ve been enough to secure your place at the top table. My vote as I’ve said before is there for anyone who wants it and I’m sure on here we could find a secondary one.
  5. Agree except for the Beardsley and Lee comments. Beardsley was the reason it went to the final game of the season practically carrying the forward line. Lee alongside Batty was fine. Gillespie was the big loss (Phil Neville doing him at Man Utd if I recall). The service from the wings dried up for Ferndinand. Ginola’s form definitely dropped after the Dixon incident the odd game aside.
  6. Just to back up what @TheGuvsaid no one was laughed at and all my questions were given space when aired. I’d like to think the way I introduced my line of questioning after the initial defensive answer (which is understandable) as the conversation developed I was then able to almost get them to let it sink in the potential perception issues of the NUST. So to reiterate what I said last night I’d encourage all to attend and have there say no matter how disgruntled rather than an email. Think it would be more effective and also stir debate within those in attendance otherwise it would be a very dry night. Only 4-5 of us in attendance actually posed questions.

    Joelinton

Yeah you’d think that’s the smart play or the bench minimum and hope he’s not needed the very smart play.
  8. On Talksport shortly… sometime between 9:30-10ish.
  9. Really!? ? Always seem to hear his name somewhere. Do they have a player with a similar name currently playing?
  10. Lemina signing for Wolves. Not sure if he’s been playing much for them.
  11. What you basing that on? Ziyech has been largely terrible in his time at Chelsea ?
  12. I understand what you are saying but I would imagine half the thinking is trying to get a ticket last minute down there as there will be some going around.
  13. Thanks ?? Though you were far more eloquent with yours ? Would encourage everyone to attend future meetings even if it only to try and challenge it if you feel the need and propose change to it going forward more directly than an email which might be more persuasive.
  14. Yes leaving mine shortly. See you there ??
  15. Sorry people ? Booked my trains for the Final ? I’m so against tempting fate as well but just had to be done at current prices as I’ve noted them rising already ?‍♂️
  16. Didn’t it used to be a 2 Leg affair each round back in the day? Talking mid 70’s to 00’s.
  17. Guessing they are hinting at our fans turning up too late en masse. Probably some truth in it TBH but not really the answer to the problem.
  18. Want us to be home 2nd leg like everyone is saying but I’d sacrifice it if it meant we were drawn against Wolves/Forest/Southampton ?
  19. ASM will play a big part in our season. Like Wilson he’s just had a bad run of injury and illness.
  20. I think (?) you have misunderstood what he was saying. He wouldn’t be jumping the queue of those with current STs. I took it if he returned (therefore buying an ST like anyone else) his points would’ve remained at where he left off rather than starting at zero. Not giving him first chance of away games without a ST. Thats the way I understood his point which is a fair one if so.
  21. I’ve always thought out of 3K allocation you should stick to the system we have for say 2.5K and put 500 on 0 points to allow those wanting to go a chance and build up their points. From that 500 you’d find the top end point holders who do sell their tickets just for points having a greatly smaller target market. Most people who do apply do so for themselves or for friends or fans that go on same coaches so let’s not through the baby out with the bath water. Theres very little scalping going on and any that is should be easily exposed.
