Everton are everything I don’t want us to become if we come into money. Wolves however...

Scary. Unfortunately Pope isn’t much use with the ball at his feet I’m guessing is the dilemma.

Very well put. It will be worth the wait. Probably after the season finishes (26th).

Well you’ll find out when the remake is released later this year. Can’t be any worse than the original and that’s coming from a big David Lynch fan

I've not heard nowt, and I can graze my cows on the moor. On a side note I wish they'd get rid of archaic shit like this. Why? It protects Newcastle green lands etc from the scrupulous. Don’t mistake Freeman with Freemasons. Everything we do is charitable and for the good of Newcastle. Hereditary status is an affront. Keep the freemen if you want but award the title to people who actually deserve it, not people who have it because someone else did something. An affront to who? What if there is no one derserving of it? Then no-one gets it. Then who defends the land when everyone dies out? Hold it in trust until there's a worthy recipient of the title. It's not rocket science, there are probably hundreds of people deserving of some honour every year for their work, pick a few and make them freemen. Turn it around, why do you deserve it? Who runs the trust then and agrees it’s function and maintains the charity? My family defended the City walls when it came under attack and the protection of the city was passed down through the family along with the other families who defended the city. Ironically as it stands my family line will end with me unless I have children very late in life and even if I did they may not want to You aren’t forced into it. I nearly didn’t but a combination of wanting to make my late grandad happy and finding out all the good work they do for the city I thought it be good to give something back for the people of Newcastle. There are honorary Freeman for those deserving of the honour as you put it for doing something special for the city. You never answered why you are affronted with what is a charity? Have they done something in their history that has upset you? Right, so you did nothing to deserve it. Not sure how “deserve it” applies to doing some charity work. I don’t see myself as owning anything Nothing against you, like I just take offense at hereditary statuses be they royalty, lords, freemen or binmen. edit: better than rehashing the ethical implications of a Saudi takeover anyway No offence taken. I have the same outlook as you hence my hesitation in the first place to become one. Since becoming one I see the good work they try to do for the city and just as importantly what they’ve stopped many various councils doing. See us as no more than well meaning conservationists of Newcastle. Shame Strawberry Place hadn’t fell under our derestriction. Now that’s what elected public servants do to the city they are meant to serve

They can’t buy the freehold of SJP, not the land in anyway. It is owned by the freeman of the city. The club owns the stadium already, just not the land, which is leased to them and on conditions it’s used for sports. If the Freeman has sold that land then we would know about it by now. Correct. The Freeman would never sell it either as one of their main sources of income.

Certainly was a bad day for FIFA to announce they were taking control of its future. It’s here to stay unfortunately.
-
No probs. Did you manage ok?

VAR: Premier League confirms wrong penalty decisions in all Thursday games https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53357841
-
Beardsley for us when we got promoted the first one that springs to mind. Missed the first few games after the coward Ruddock smashed his jaw in the pre-season family.
-
Just want Watford and Bournemouth to get above West Ham.
-
You're not allowed to say that on here man. Not a pen that but it wasn't a clear and obvious error by the ref either. VAR is crap. It looked clear and obvious to me That would’ve been a FK and card to Bruno middle of the park. Possibly a red with today’s standards. Trying to recall a couple of incidents when it’s happened as there was a couple in the last season or two.
-
He is to be fair saying it’s a terrible decision.
-
Never a penalty.
-
I don’t see why not.
-
They haven't released that yet. Doing it once they've sorted the single match tickets. So possibly next week. This is correct. Should get an email in the coming days/weeks. Guessing the same system so be prepared
-
If you have booked them all (so in your name and you paid for them) then you just put one item in the basket and purchase once you’ve decided your method (presuming refund not credit). They have a record of all your tickets so will match them all up and refund you in one lump. It’s as clear as mud though I agree I got 4 people tickets in two separate transactions for Man City. Got my £60 back today.

Very average. We’ve had worse possibly in recent years but he’s just not athletic enough even if he was close enough to having enough ability. He’s capable of an odd nice Zidane turn now and again so have visions of him playing alongside Scott Parker in midfield...... :frantic:
