  1. He was and is absolutely shocking on the ball. He might be better than Dummett, I wouldn't want to be the one to analyse like I completely get why people want Dummett replaced, I do too at some point, but he's the least of our worries at the minute and was absolutely sound last season.
  2. People trying to claim bravery for posting a dissenting opinion on a message board now? Perez is not a good Premiership player, it's just odd to single him out when he's doing a decent enough job of what he's being told by the manager. We'll obviously get rid of him and most of the squad when/if we get taken over. It's not hard to grasp. If he starts playing shit (as in shit even for us) or stops doing what he's asked then he'll be dropped.
  3. Because when you're paid millions of pounds to play football, not being scared on the ball is a pretty big thing. And actually, this is just absolute nonsense. Danny Simpson won the league ffs You want footballers to be good on the ball but it's by no means a requirement if they have other attributes which are effective. There's countless examples throughout football of players who lack in key areas but make up for it elsewhere and are an asset to their side. I'd say in our current state Paul Dummett is definitely an asset.
  4. Because when you're paid millions of pounds to play football, not being scared on the ball is a pretty big thing. He's fine in games like Sunday against a big club where there's nothing expected of him other than to stop them playing. I watched him against Brighton however and it was alarming how poor he was feeding the ball to others. 0-0. A Paul Dummett special. There'll be a day in the next year or so when we sign a left-back who can defend and also doesn't s*** himself in possession and we'll be in awe. He can do the defensive attributes well but that's the easiest part of football. Being able to head a ball clear, tackle someone, block a cross...that's basic defending and you get that throughout the leagues. For the Premier League though you need so much more. Read the post man, I'm talking about people going completely overboard with criticism to the point where he was even being called a poor defender, that was said plenty last season and it was just odd. On the ball he's absolutely awful.
  5. I’ve honestly never understood the stick he gets like (on the ball I do aye). He made a couple of mistakes last season and people were using it to score points in some odd claim he’s a bad defender. He’s always been solid and has never looked out of place defensively in this league.
  6. Anyone know how long it usually takes for MOTD2 to come up on iPlayer?
  7. Ofcourse we're desperate for a No 10. We're desperate for a whole new team.
  8. An odd game to choose to criticise him in like, he played well and we generally play better with him in the side.
  9. Great again. Madness how he's went from pretty much a joke to probably the first person on the team sheet Well along with Lascelles anyway.
  10. such a fucking rediculious night.
  11. Seen it about half a dozen times and i’m still not sure what the fuck happened.
  12. Seems obvious like, although it may just be an issue of there being too many to deal with.
  13. I liked him before he came back like, I suppose followers of Spanish football started to hate him before then too. His egotistical craic and the way he seemed to be idolised by his squad back in his first Chelsea stint was petty admirable though. Seemed the same at Inter too. He didn't seem to take it well as soon as he wasn't at the top, Pep completely cracked him up.
  14. Other team needing a goal and putting more pressure on us? It’s easy to forget it’s a game of 2 sides when you’re looking at things through the perspective of your own team. We cannot just dictate how the game goes at will, nowhere close with our squad. There’s been games where the opposition have just been bad and we’ve managed to stay in control.
  15. Shola at the World Cup was a landmark period of the game.
  16. He pretty much scored an identical goal to the Chelsea first against Villa on his debut too (with his left though I think).
  17. I wonder what happened with Cisse like, because like you say the goals he was scoring were all great finishes. It'd be pretty unlikely to hit a patch of luck like that.
  18. We need to stick every player on our books in some sort of royal rumble with Lascelles.
