Frank's about the ideal appointment for them for us imo. Don't think he has enough to make them a consistent force but he'll pick points off our champions league rivals.
-
Said he'd volley Richarlison if he did his celebration in front of him iirc EDIT: Was for his keeper up show boating. Not a patch on Grealish's comments although he was smashed.
-
I agree, but Isak was unfit for decent spells last season, Joelinton too, and Bruno playing almost every minute means he is going to burn out. We force lower half sides into making mistakes and gatecrashing the box as they don't have the quality to play through us. We used to struggle a lot more against sides who could play through us. Injuries and fitness issues forced us to adapt but I imagine Howe still wants to return back to what we're good at.
-
But even if we don't change from 4-3-3 Howe has switched around how we attack loads. Joelinton/Willock dovetailing for example. More bodies in midfield and attack will mean we can manage our minutes better. I don't think we have much issues creating chances when we're fit.
-
I mean you would imagine we'll be signing 4-5 players this window. Elanga alone would obviously be a poor window.
-
They're ridiculous like, free reign to sign the windows top picks and then ruin their careers, every window We are what's wrong with football though
-
'In the early days' they'd just taken over their first football club, they will have asked stupid questions. Agents were 'astounded' by it? Howay man, it's sensationalism. I don't know why Emery didn't come but you don't botch your way to scouting and recruiting a manager like Howe, after Emery.
-
It's clearly sensationalist bollocks and in hindsight it's absolutely laughable to suggest they didn't have a clue what they were doing.
-
That was from 4 days before Howe signed, and would have been around the time Emery knocked us back.
-
Ter Stegen would be a Trippier like signing where we would all experience what it's like to actually have an elite player in a position we never have.
-
I'd only consider it if they offered their entire academy AND Oscar Bobb.
-
Most of these technical players don't have anywhere near the output of these pace merchants though and when they do they cost like £100m. Just adding a RW like Maddison or Lee Kang In won't have us tearing apart a Moysey defence every time alone. Mbuemo looked perfect as he's great in transitions, can play up top, and has bags of technical ability, but he knows that so is holding out for absurd wages.
-
Instead of doing what Howe wants, we should follow Brighton's lead and finish mid table.
-
It makes us pretty ridiculous on the counter like. Liverpool scored the most counter attacks in the league despite dominating most games.
-
Aye but that's because they were on inflated wages. You would hope Wilson's contract is massively reduced.
-
I agree with this in general, but with Wilson the horse has already bolted. We should have sold him earlier, but at this stage our options are basically: Buy a 3rd choice striker. Don't have a 3rd choice striker. Give Wilson an extension on lower wages.
-
I remember watching that Chelsea game and thinking he was absolutely off his tits, but assumed there was some genius behind it. But he actually was just shit enough to put all 8 outfield players in Chelsea's half and keep them there
-
It would have been absolutely insane if they'd kept him like
-
He would be emergency backup, nothing else. Not a chance we don't sign a striker unless we feel Osula is going to come on a lot in pre-season.
-
Am I misremembering or did touchy hutchy boot some lad on this forum?
-
It's canny when the kick it and run really fast into the net though.
-
Didn't hurt when we did it with Isak.
-
Seems a bit of a no brainer unless we have something else lined up?
-
Partey is a shout like, can cover at RB too.
