How is Hall in any way a direct replacement for Gordon? There may be a reason on Hall's part he isn't getting picked, but Ritchie wasn't at fault for us losing yesterday, and there's zero evidence Hall would have made any difference. This is just bluster, though. Howe isn't just picking Richie for the craic.

How is the Hall/Richie stuff bollocks? He prefered Richie as a left winger in a half where we were fucked and basically just defending. Maybe Hall would have been better, maybe he would have misplaced a pass leasing to us conceding earlier, who knows? I think Howe would change a lot of things in hindsight given how little we've come away with on comparison to the effort put in, but he's been let down by some awful individual errors.

His mistakes have all been mental not physical like. We usually control games well but recently we're just having to allow teams to attack us at will so mistakes will be more common. He's always had a rick in him tbf, he'll come back.

It's not just the players on paper, we cannot keep our intesity up which is our whole thing. We've seen Tottenham, Everton*, and Bournemouth all completely overun us in all areas of the pitch within the past few weeks. The swuad being down to it's bones has had a pretty obvious effect like *Everton let us have the ball more than they should tbh, when they pressed us we were sloppy. Outside of the rare, high profile clanger (such as last 2 games), Trippier has been excellent defensively. He looked susceptible to being done by pace early on when he arrived but he seems to position himself a lot better now.

It's the same reason we make teams look bad on the ball though. We're just not as fit and it's easy for Tottenham to close us down and limit space. It's depressing to watch.
