If we sell Hall in 3 years time for £60m then it was a good signing for FFP though. The best way to skirt FFP is to get a bargain and that was the plan with Hall. When we signed him we had 2 strong first XIs, and even during our injury crisis LB has never really been an issue. Howe absolutely loves Dan Burn, so much so that Targett (a very solid fullback) was almost completely absent even when fully fit.

Like I say, people got hung up on replacing Burn with a tachnical left back this season, but in hindsight that was never the plan.

How is the fee relevant, people (me included) wrongfully assumed we'd signed Hall to replace Burn and Targett this season, it's pretty clear now that Burn was always going to be first choice, and Hall was always signed for the future

An 18 year old hasn't immediately walked into the club and started lifting up trees so obviously he's shite, a cunt, and needs shipping back to London ASAP. If that kid we've signed from Man City hasn't scored 5 goals by the summer we've completely wasted our money. The club is ran by wankers.

Nowt wrong with the officiating, but Dixon and Tyldesley showing that they actually know the handball law, whilst still acting with bewilderment as to why it stood, was fucking aggravating Arm by his side, pinged off him from a yard away, and he wasn't the goaoscorer so none of it matters anyway. The constant moaning about the (objectively better) decisions to let offsides play out regardless of how obvious they are is creepy as fuck too.

Murphy has been genuinely really good for a while.

His age really softens the blow from a footballing perspective, given our season is completely fucked, he'll be half a year older by the time we're back for next season. It's the fact I always saw him staying on afterwards that hurts more, which is weird as fuck tbh

The Rodri thing was daft like, he wouldn't shut up for a good minute or two after the yellow. Like I don't want to see players sent off for that, the ban situation needs a massive overhaul imo (complaining/asking for cards could easily be a sin bin thing), but we've seen players walk for far, far less this season. It's an obvious issue with trying to solve a problem by being massively authoritarian.

We weren't weak when we signed him though, we had Burn and Targett there with Trippier and Livramento for cover. A lot of people underrate Burn and in hindsight Hall was probably signed purely for the future.

It's not that we're running ourselves into the ground though, we're clearly holding back and have been for like 2 months+. Players like Gordon and Isak though have to do a lot of short burst sprints and are going to tire, then we're left with nothing up top because we literally have no other forwards I thought today was pretty evident how much the forwards tiring effects out game. Add it to Chelsea, l & PSG.

Isak and Gordon could run in the first half though. The reason we get pinned in often in the 2nd half is tiredness. One or two players are fucked and their defence doesn't need to be tight anymore and we offer nowt in terms of counter-pressing.
