Watford 2-1 Newcastle United 23/1/16 - Post-match reaction from page 28

I would have just stuck Gouffran in at left back, it's atrocious but it allows us to hopefully continue from where we left off last week where the midfield and attack were in sync. The thing is in the first half we in the game a lot, but the wing-backs weren't creating anything and there wasn't really a plan B. There was rarely anyone ahead of them to help out and Sissoko and Wijnaldum were lost in the middle. -
Thought a few of his balls out from the back were really sloppy and aimless like, which was weird, but one of those things where a pacey striker playing on the last defender opens up options when you're on the backfoot a bit. Ighalo was threatening to destroy us time and time again because every time we lost the ball in the Watford half they knew they could just punt the cunt and he'd force the issue.

Still another week left to sell the lad.

Wanting us to lose makes perfect sense like, not sure how people still don't get it. I don't want us to like, bit short termist though. I'm just hoping through blind hope that Ashley dies soon. -

Lascelles showed up the other end how important it can be too. A powerful defender probably gets us 3-4 goals a season from set pieces and is involved in creating a few more too. -
again, people literally making shit up so they can shoot it down.

I mean, if a fan of NUFC predicts a defeat they've got a fair chance of being right. Nah, it was a tough one this Ian, that lad really knows his onions. -

Mitrovic love in man, what the fuck are yous onabout? He's 21, been here 6 months, and has looked really handy at times. He clearly shouldn't be leading the line for us, I don't think anyone has said otherwise. You're creating arguments and then shooting them down. -
it's totally stupid like. £4m man.

That LB and striker that we obviously needed to buy would have been canny handy today like. -

McClaren believing that we're creating chances explains why he perseveres with shite like this. -

wat. He's isolated up top by himself man, he's kept the ball well enough but there's nobody in support. We're playing with 2 wingbacks and no wingers and we look impotent as fuck. -

I like that he's willing to try things out but the 2 wing-backs aren't making things happen and there's no real backup plan. Mitrovic isolated up top by himself is fucking useless too, he needs someone near him. -
Best description I've ever heard of him. it is like. Spot on.
-
Ibe and Milner on the wing, Henderson and Lucas in the centre. Lightyears ahead of our midfield though...
-
If they absolutely must add play-offs then it should be for the final Champions League place and not the title. 4-7 in a play-off, winner gets into the Champions League play-offs, runner up gets into the Europa League.

At the end of the day, good move or not, this is proper shit craic from Harper like.

I'd far sooner go 3 at the back than play Aarons at LB like -

Anything other than Mbemba left back seems absolutely mental, it's an obvious choice. Edit: Fuck knows what I'm talking about here, I meant Mbabu, is he still injured? EDEEET: Would just go Gouffran instead of switching people around - I have a feeling he'll hoy Saivet there and play Tiote in the centre. -

Rob Elliott though -
 even funnier that this is barely an exaggeration too.

there's 3-4 players who an injury to could potentially ruin us full stop. We've had a lot of injuries but luckily none of them have been Sissoko or Wijnaldum. Mitrovic goes down and we're back to Cisse leading the line (or Riviere ), we're taking a huge risk (like usual). It's one article, none of us have a clue what's going on Yeah but the point is still true, we need to sign at least another 2 imo (striker and a LB), anything less and we're taking a huge gamble. Not saying we wont do that, although I wouldn't be surprised.
