  1. Just rub some Estee Lauder onto Harry Kewell.
  2. Maybe it's just me noticing it because it's us, but I cannot remember any other incidents of the media calling for a player to be banned over a shoulder barge like. It's completely new to me.
  3. He doesn't even start him does he? Prefers Rondon because he's about 12ft. His goal tally last season was great for 21 year old.
  4. Win 5 out of 16 and we're almost certainly safe. I think Chelsea will pull ahead into the top half and we'll settle behind Watford/Everton if we're 'lucky' with injuries.
  5. He beat him with consummate ease because he chose to dive down the complete opposite side of the goal, that's unsurprisingly how penalties work. You're clearly on the wind up at this point anyway so I give in.
  6. Basically aye, baffled why Shearer used to blast them into the top corners tbh, all he needed to do was give either corner a knowing glance and then gently roll it down the middle.
  7. 3ft off the post Fucking hell you never see them kept out like. Watch Harry Kane's penalty from Saturday for a comparison. Watched it again anyway, no way he sends de Gea the wrong way, he just guesses correctly unless de Gea fell for 'the eyes'. He doesn't even start to make his dive until Mitrovic has connected with the ball, so he didn't wait to see where he was going before he placed it either. It just wasn't that great a penalty, honestly not sure why anyone who has seen a penalty kick before is arguing otherwise.
  8. Baffled how he sent de Gea the other way mind. Maybe I need to watch it again as I've obviously missed something.
  9. Stroked confidently a yard and a half to the right, aye. It was a 'safe' penalty by a striker who needed a goal. It doesn't really matter if you're a bag of nerves or not, if you're not picking out the corners they'll be saved now and then.
  10. Tbh I think were only lacking a left back, centre back, and striker and we'd have a decent top half team. I said at the start of the season, when Mclaren first signed, that if we use this season as a transitional one, and build a squad and invest in the team getting 3-4 players in each window, that I'd be happy with that, admittedly we've been shitter then expected, but if we get another player or two, then manage to push away from the drop zone, then invest again in the summer, I'd be relitivly okay with this season, looking at the long term. Obviously there are some big its, but still. We have nothing in reserve though, either as backup for injuries or for the future, our starting XI is a little unbalanced but probably only 3-4 players from being very good. We'll always be susceptible to an absolute spanking though and poor runs of form through injuries and tiredness, we only compete in 1 competition and see this. As a club we seem to be of the opinion that any keeper better than Rob Elliot is a luxury, it's like that in almost every position too, Armstrong (loaned out) and Aarons are the only young players we have with any obvious potential, and as everyone has a price with us Wijnaldum might not even be here next season, and he'll be nigh on impossible to replace 1-for-1.
  11. Ideally we'd bring in about 12 players tbh, it's what we need. But if it's a choice of a left winger or a pacey striker who's good on the ball I'd go with the striker, he can fill in on the wing if needs be.
  12. We really need a pacey forward who can play on the last man, when was the last time we had one, Lovenkrands? If Mitrovic gets injured we're also completely fucked. McClaren needs to bite the bullet and try and get the best out Thauvin. Between him, Aarons and Perez we should be fine down the left.
  13. If Tottenham want Berahino ahead of us they'll get Berahino Nothing at all we'll be willing to do about it.
  14. There's 17 of THEM amongst us.
  15. At this point I'm assuming their plan is to sell all of their assets and then burn the Liberty Stadium to the ground.
  16. From GC: "However there was also a real dark side to Shelvey's performance when he appeared to take West Ham's Enner Valencia out of the game, which suggests to me that Shelvey is prepared to do whatever it takes in order to win a football match. The only problem with tactics like that is they can win or lose you matches." Am I watching a different incident here or something?
  17. It'll kill that West Ham fan that like, that he's better than Payet.
  18. Quite optimistic than McClaren is well aware of Colback's limitations and has only been playing him so much due to lack of options... yeah, he's started pulling hin off in games which is odd for CM, no hesitation to pull him out of midfield on Saturday either instead of putting Lascelles or Gouffran in at LB and leaving the rest alone.
  19. Corner? It was closer to the middle of the goal, it wasn't confidently struck at all and if De Gea guesses the right way it's saved with absolutely no effort. Not a criticism of his ability, just highlighting that he really isn't confident in front of goal at all atm. that's saved 3-4 times out out 10 imo. It doesn't really matter as we never get given penalties but if we ever start we need someone who can power them in or find the corners.
  20. compare him to Cech or Lloris and it's night and day. Elliott has no presence about him at all, he's making saves and not flapping at chances but thats what you would expect as a bare minimum from a Premiership keeper.
  21. I'm completely baffled why it's been given more than a passing mention. Fair enough the Swansea fans are desperate for him to fail, he must have been a total cunt there because their disdain for him is us to Pardew levels. Not sure though how anyone else saw it as anything other than a slightly OTT shoulder barge as Valencia was running into him, and then Valencia rolling about the the floor clutching his face like a tart - he completely bought it. In fact I'm baffled why the conversation isn't for Valencia to be banned forever instead. It was clear as day what happened unless they've watched it on a 4-bit stream.
  22. Dave'll have you for posting footy videos mind. Colo does nothing wrong there though, he's ball watching because he doesn't expect Mbemba to have just blindly passed the ball to Jelavic.
  23. He's also never referred to an attractive woman as anything other than 'treacle'.
  24. It's mad how you can pretty much deduct his entire personality from that one clip You can tell nobody likes him, he's a part of this clique of faux football radgies, drinks shit lager, hates Muslims, has cheap West Ham memorabilia in both his house and car, owns at least 1 England flag, at least 1 notoriously aggressive dog (such as a staffy or a bullmastiff), has a fat wife/gf, his favourite foods are mince pies and fish and chips, makes constant jokes about blacks and how women should never leave the kitchen, has a sub 4 inch penis.
