  1. there's 3-4 players who an injury to could potentially ruin us full stop. We've had a lot of injuries but luckily none of them have been Sissoko or Wijnaldum. Mitrovic goes down and we're back to Cisse leading the line (or Riviere ), we're taking a huge risk (like usual).
  2. It's an amazing oversight like, that Ryder article. Sure he's mentioned using placeholders as an excuse for his cock ups before so I imagine while he was raking his brain for another player to put into that list he jokingly added himself with a big grin on his face - wrapping his tie around his head, raising his open hand aloft and gently running around the empty office quietly screaming 'yeeaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh' under his breath. Back to his seat - Send.
  3. I want him to do well like, whether it be here in a reserve role or somewhere else. I don't think he should be anywhere near our first XI like, especially at LB, but he seems a nice lad and has always stuck in. That "Fuck off Dummett" bed-sheet was up there with the worst things our fans have done.
  4. You'd think that - with an ever increasing light being shone on his work - he would actually proof read these things, or that the Chronicle would hire an intern to comb through his articles or something.
  5. If Perez is going to be off then he's going to be off, we cannot do a Ba and pander to him at the expense of the team*. Like Mitrovic he's only 22 as well, I think they should expect competition. Not that I think Perez is bad for the team like, but we need strikers, and if a striker we sign is competing for Perez' place then so be it, it's a good thing.
  6. One thing I've noticed with African players joining the Premier League is that the vast majority of them - if not all - are black.
  7. Whether he's alongside Mitrovic or in place of him we still need more than 1 Premiership quality striker.
  8. It's one of the oddest comparisons I've ever read. Like comparing Anthony Martial to Paul Furlong.
  9. Lomana LuaLua who never managed anywhere near 15 Premier League goals in 1 season, never mind at the age of 21?
  10. I don't think Townsend improves us that much (if at all) but Berahino would be massive. If we sign him and a left back I think we can be pretty versatile with the 4-5-1, 4-3-3 & 4-4-2 (diamond ala Chelsea w/Balack, Lampard & Deco) depending on injuries, suspensions and rotation.
  11. A season that crowns a champ on the final day in dramatic fashion? There's been a handful of those in the NFL, tbh. it was a completely ridiculous moment that you'll never see in any other format man. I had goosebumps and I pretty much despise everything about Man City post-Arab money. The beauty of it was down to it's uniqueness - the fact it was so ridiculously unlikely - Joey Barton kicking lads up the arse. Just an amazing story. I'd prefer not to lose seasons like that for the sake of ensuring EVERY season goes down to the wire, I just don't think that's all that exiting, especially when there's another 4 competitions PL clubs can be involved in essentially doing exactly that alongside the league. I get the point of it being an equalizer but I'd prefer we sorted that out in a way that made the financial disparity between clubs less of a factor, and prevented knob ends like Ashley taking the piss.
  12. What da fuk is real football?
  13. And there'll never be an NFL finish as thrilling as 2012. It is shit when it peters out to a 10 point lead like it has a coupke of times in recent years, but then you still have the FA Cup, League Cup and Champions League (Euros/World Cup every other year too). No need to cheapen the league by adding forced tension to it imo, which is all play-offs are.
  14. He's right though Absolutely nothing wrong with the format, we need a better way of limiting the ridiculous spending but that's more a government and/or FIFA thing.
  15. As shit as Colback is one of his biggest plus points is getting his body in the way of the ball when it's in/around our box, that alone ensures he's a better choice than fucking Aarons. Hopefully Mbabu's fit.
  16. Mourinho winning the Champions League with Inter is probably the best recent example, Greece obs anall. They both bored the tits off every cunt.
  17. Do you actually want to argue a counter point? There's no need. What you're saying is just wrong. So far we're 2-0 triggs here mind. I didn't even necessarily agree with him in the start.
  18. I think he'd make enough of a difference. He's got the potential to take a game by the scruff of the neck, and some real nous. You don't need amazing to stay up, you just need to improve on the glaring weaknesses in the middle (defence and midfield)... Starting Saivet ahead of all their midfielders when he's played less than 40 minutes for you . They're in the top half despite having a dodgy keeper and defence, and a big lump up front. Their midfield can't be that bad. I get that every football forum is like this, but it's dangerously RAWKish. Saivet's ludicrous, obviously. But Liverpool have been playing Lucas (I've heard he's playing well tbf), Henderson, Ibe and Milner, it's hardly a daft shout to suggest Shelvey, Wijnaldum and Sissoko start amongst that. I was massively apprehensive about Shelvey at the time because he obviously packed in at Swansea, looking into it more though he could be a great signing and pretty much eactly what we needed. Our problem has always been that our central midfield was horrendous, not our midfield as a whole. Sissoko, Wijnaldum & Perez are genuinely quality players, we just cannot get the best out of them often enough when the 2 behind are soft as shite and adverse to playing the ball forwards, and the defence is leaking goals for fun. Saivet and Shelvey will hopefully change that
  19. I'd be surprised if Shelvey wasn't a regular starter at Liverpool now like if he'd stayed, doubt he'd pull a strop there like he did at Swansea.
  20. It was the timing as well though. Cabaye is playing class, nearly scores again then he's brought off. A manager should understand the atmosphere of the game and how it can swing in favour of the opponent. Especially when the lead is 1-0. FWIW I would have made Cabaye carry on even if he was carried out of SJP at the end. This game was absolutely critical.
  21. I think his defensive contribution has been fine in the few games he started earlier in the season. Most of the time though he's been brought on when we're chasing the game and/or with too little time to make a difference.
  22. Did he turn out good? Last I heard of him was at Blackpool when everyone was frothing over him and Ince.
