At some level though, results are important at this level. Going to European Championships would be a great experience for the youth players to play against the best of the continent, experience a real competitive atmosphere, and build relationships that could be vital if players ever reach the national team together. Of course, you can say that the inability to include Harper is just a representation of Sbragia's tactical deficiencies, which is probably correct tbf , but I don't think the mentality is necessarily incorrect. At that stage all that should matter is developing the kids talents, everything else is an after thought. at U21 level maybe because they are pro's at that point but anything else before that results shouldn't really be considered above development. Like Baba says though, if they don't get results then the experience is limited. Sbragia's outlook is appalling but you still have to build a team capable of winning at that level.

20k a week is a mega contract now? For an 18 year old kid who's played a couple of games it is a mega contract. FFS millions don't earn that in a year in this country never mind a week, especially not people his age.
