  1. 35mil worth As far as the OP goes, I'll always support Newcastle, regardless of what happens. I can see more where Mick is coming from, it's not really possible to compete at the top level with the amount of money that's being thrown around by some clubs. It's just going to end up with the richest teams being the top teams and the poorer scrapping it out at the bottom.
  2. Give it a few years then AC9 again. The red head assassin.
  3. Yea, looking back, that's pretty much all he did. Replace post with mazes question and my post stands.
  4. Take away Carrolls goals & assists this season we'd be on 21 points, joint bottom. Take away purely his goals we'd be on 24 pts, 2 points off the relegation zone. What a ridiculous post. We'd have someone else playing instead, who could have scored more. Every game would be shaped differently. Seriously, fucking stupid.
  5. Another numpty who is under the impression that Ashley will spend the Carroll money on new players. Have you been in a coma for the last 3 years? In the end who knows, I f***ing hate Ashley with all my heart. But it seems like no one has any hope left, that everything disappeared with a player. This is Newcastle United Football Club, ever since Sir Bobby left it has been nothing but turmoil and embarrassment but we all still LOVE this club don't we. And Mike Ashley will be here for now not much we can do about it as he doesn't care. Try to look at the bright side of life. Thing is, I imagine a fair few would've taken the money themselves. 35mil is a lot for a player who has only had a good half a season in the PL, sure he has great potential, but who's to say he'll live up to it. The whole transfer request & text rubbish doesn't make sense to me though.

    Ambition

Unless Ben Arfa's been bought to keep for a year or two then sell on for top price More than likely will be. I was just trying to be optimistic, not sure why really. Definitely misplaced optimism.

    Ambition

Difficult to say until we see how the money is spent in the summer. We sold Carroll, sure, but we've also brought in the likes of Ben Arfa. Surely that's showing some ambition for a newly promoted club?
  8. 4:40 The Editor: Newcastle have broken their silence on the Andy Carroll saga - and have said a second bid from Liverpool has been rejected.
  9. Aye, what with Carroll missing from the team for the first time an all... Tard. Yeah because confidence in the squad is going to be sky f***ing high after today. Hughton sacked. Liverpool 3-1.
  10. Yup, where the hell would our goals come from!? Thats right - they wouldn't. If anyone else other than Carroll scored more than 8 goals in the league this season I'd drink my own pi... Ohhh...
  11. Great signing for them, picking up the next Pele on loan. Gotta help a push for promotion.

    La Liga - 10/11

True, I suppose for him it keeps his options open as well in terms of, if Quique Sanchez Flores gets sacked, how he gets on with the new manager, the ambition the club shows etc. It's not like noone would be willing to pay the 45mil buy out clause if he wanted out of Atletico.

Really? They haven't thought that one through very well. I hope to God he doesn't go to Real, I like Aguero and can't stand Real.

Aguero's signed a new deal with Atletico. That should either stop him moving to Real at the end of the season or increase the price considerably.
  15. Are they just making their way across Europe bidding for any strikers that they come across? Is there any reported figure?
  16. What about Man Utd selling Ronaldo? They didn't replace him adequately and lost out on the title to Chelsea? Enrique, Coloccini, Tiote and Ben Arfa all want to be here as well, and none of them are local. If you have a player that supported a team as a lad they'll always put in 100% because it's not just for their personal performances but to see the team that they support do well. If you think you can find a player who can play the way Carroll does and have the impact on a game that he does, that also supports us, for the £8-10mil price you mentioned previously please point him out.
  17. Today I wouldn't sell. At the end of the season a very sizeable bid could be accepted, IF we had adequate replacement(s) lined up.
  18. Warnock on loan is the rumoured replacement.
  19. This. We wouldn't have time to bring in a replacement, and we're hardly oozing top quality strikers at the moment. It'd be stupid to sell.
  20. Villa are getting close to signing Michael Bradley
