Nor did Milito or Sneijder. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Ballon d'Or is judged on performances over the last 12 months. Sneijder has pretty much been missing since July/August time, a third of the year. Messi has been exceptional this season as well as last, I agree he didn't have a great World Cup but that's only taking out 1 month rather than 4/5, making him a better candidate for the award. As I mentioned before, Xavi has been even better than both over the last 12 months though.

Pretty sure he was top scorer in the CL as well. You couldn't sound more bitter if you tried.

Sneijders WC performance is overrated tbh, sure he was good, but not as good as people made out and in the CL it was more a result of Inters defensive performance & referee disallowing Bojans goal that got them through. Xavi should have won it above Sneijder and Messi tbh.

I agree, it would probably have been much more beneficial for him if he had gone for the rest of the season.

Bit of bias there surely? FYP. They're brilliant to watch and hard to argue that they aren't the best team in the competition.

I really hope we get him in time so that he can train with the squad a bit and then play on Sunday. No matter how you look at it, Smith starting against the mackems is nothing but bad news.

I'd obviously love for it to be rescinded, and IMO it wasn't a red card, it will definitely be upheld though.

Out of interest, how's he been doing in the reserves? I've heard next to nothing about him since he signed.

Wouldn't think so, obviously we can beat them, but they've got a decent side too. Still be happy with a point.

I like Tavernier, been good whenever I've seen him so he should do a good job for ya, it'll be good for him to get some game time as well. I've not seen as much of Edmundsson but he's rated fairly well, should hopefully be able to bag a few goals for ya, although I'm sure someone else could let you know more about him.

Think they regard him as more of a midfielder really, he's played as one of the midfield 3 a few times this season. If he was available I'd definitely take Paddy though.
