FWIW, Colo started off pretty well in his first season. He was unbelievable against Chelsea at the Bridge around November time. When the club really went to shit he dropped off. I'd probably put it partly down to Saylor positioning as well, an accomplished CB can't imagine he'll join a club and play alongside that like.

How is that beyond you? Batistuta isn't even top 100 for me. That'd be due to your strong Brazilian bias. He was an absolute goalscoring machine. If Shearer didn't play for us and wasn't a geordie, people wouldn't be choosing him ahead of Batistuta. My comment was aimed more at the people who have chosen teams based upon players that they've seen, as well.

It's fun to talk about though, love these kind of discussions myself and remembering some of the players people bring in. True, I made a topic on a different forum before for people to make an 'all time XI' (I'm a hypocrit), where you could only choose 1 player from a country and 1 player from their 'main' club. I.e. If you chose Puskas, you couldn't have Di Stefano (Real Madrid) or Kocsis (Hungary). Produced some interesting teams.
