You already said Rooney is Englands best player and had his best season playing as a lone striker in a 4-5-1/4-3-3, so wouldn't it be a waste for him to be put out wide in a front 3? Can't argue with Walcott & Johnson/Young out wide though. It needs to be tried. What we do know, is that he can be very ineffective in a 4-4-2. When he played in a 2 with Van Nistelrooj he was effective, but only because he primarily worked the channels. He could do that in a 4-3-3. It was tried, albeit 5 years ago. England lost the game 1-0 to Northern Ireland. I forget, was rooney carroll and walcottt playing that day ? Yea, they all started. Sven was going for a youthful attack. Point still stands that Rooney was wasted out wide as he didn't have as much freedom, got very frustrated throughout the match.

This is a wind-up right, Steve? Incase it isn't; Where was the left footer in Spains 3 man midfield when they won the World Cup?
-
So now you're shoe-horning players into positions they're not suited to. Regardless of it being a midfield 3 you still want a left-footer on the left, which leaves you with Gareth Barry. It's the same problem again - we might have the front men to fit into a 4-3-3 but we don't have the midfielders. The best upcoming English midfielder is left footed, Jack Wilshere. Isn't Matt Jarvis left footed also? What about Josh McEachran? I think McEachran is, wasn't sure so didn't mention him though. Not sure about Jarvis like.

My God They really are a group of bitter b*******. Even if we had Messi they'd say he's s****, over-hyped and over-rated.

Linus Hallenius' goal was the best there, for me. Unbelievable tekkers

Saha Distin Goma Domi Robert Bernard Guivarch Sibierski N’zogbia Boumsong Ginola Ben Arfa Beye That's 13. Can't get any more Beye's Senegalise. All the rest were on my list, along with Frank Dumas. Not got the last one though EDIT: Pancrate as well

This. He has potential, but not the right attitude to make it imo
-
Definitely deserves his place in the team, just hope he doesn't pick up an injury.
-
No thanks.

Oh yea, at €3m he's a bargain. He'll be eligible for the Champions League as well won't he? Since PSV are only in the Europa League.
-
We are paying something ridiculous like €3m, if reports are to be believed. Suppose he'll be cover/rotate with Iniesta in the "A"MC and winger positions. Anyway, he any good? Not good enough to get in your first XI. If he was to start I imagine it'd be in the LW position but I rate Pedro so I'd start him ahead of Afellay. He is a very good player though.
-
I'd stick him out wide right. Adam Hammills a good shout, good young prospect and probably wouldn't cost too much.
-
Giovani dos Santos on loan from Spurs. Could provide a bit of a spark when we need it and hasn't been playing for Spurs so might be available (unless he's just been injured and I missed that)

This. I don't really see how booing a team can do them any good. There was some muppet sat a few rows behind me in LC on Saturday that was booing Danny Simpson quite a lot. Same idiot shouted "Shoot!" at one point when Tiote had the ball, he did shoot, then the guy started shouting grief for shooting. F**king tit.
-
How much did Man Utd pay for Hernandez? He was around £7m wasn't he?
-
Spurs strikers are all overrated except Pavlyuchenko tbh. There and left back are their weakest positions.
-
Hate stats like that, you know exactly whats going to happen now. They've only had one league game this season with a margin of more than one goal as well, which was when they beat Wigan 2-0. So they'll beat us about 4-1 then?
-
This. He was below par against Blackburn really, was very impressive against Arsenal and the unwashed though. Putting him in the England squad would be a bit of a snap decision like, he has been better than most English RBs since he's come back, but he's only been back 3 games, needs to show a bit more consistency first really. Micah Richards is definitely Englands best choice at right back at the moment, Johnson is pure s****.
-
We conceded from 2 defensive errors and our final ball let us down going forward against Blackburn. Can't really blame Hughton for that like. We have looked like a one trick pony though with no alternative game plan at times though in a few games this season. That needs to be addressed. With regards to Vuckic, it might be worth giving him a try. He could rise to the occassion of playing in the PL and have a great game or he could flop and do nothing, only way to find out is by giving him a couple of games really.
-
Showed how much it meant to him after he f'd up, he was devastated. I'm confident he'll bounce back when he returns.
